Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Yay! Just received a call as well 255! Had to put more minutes on his calling card. He sounds great!! Couldn't be happier!
Also noticed his direct deposit is good to go, he got paid yesterday!

Just got my phone call too. He is in Ship 12 and I think he said 263. I was sp excited to hear from him I forgot to write it down. I do know he said he is set to graduate on the 22nd of August though.

EW764, I have been sending letters everyday since 7/1 and I still don't know if he's received them. No phone call today, hoping he calls tomorrow.

Received a short... very short phone call today from my son ( ship 13 Div 259) He sounds great but a little home sick. I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes mail to reach them. I've sent letters everyday for the last week. His Grandmother, and friends have as well but he has not received any mail. I know its silly but now I'm worried that they are addressed wrong!

My SR was transferred from Div 251 and is now in Div 257. So now his PIR is 8/22. Not sure when we will get our next phone call. :(

one proud mom--call ur son's recruiter he can give u the address from the system..that is what i did and they will be able to give u the graduation date for your son.

Bensma, Don't worry about the names on the first list. They will submit the final list for PIR sometime in the last couple weeks of BC.
Some SRs have put their pets names on the list.LOL They are getting yelled at to hurry etc when they are filling out the form letter so it happens.
