~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Alice in Az I sent you a message. Great Caithness, what DIV is your son in?
CP-KW … where do I get the Sarge's Day to Day print?
Received our first call today at 5:56 a.m.. He sounds good besides the stuffy nose that he is calling allergies. He said they had ribs for 4th of July and sang the Star Spangled Banner before bed last night. He said he's getting better at making his bed. Feeling great that the call I was hoping for came in today!!
So just so we all know, Ship 11/255 will be on Week 1 day 3 on Monday, if you don't have Sarge's Day to day printed out, it's wonderful (my boot camp bible to know whats going on with my SR when I can't talk to him every day). My SR says he believes they will have their swim test and first inspection this coming Friday.
So in my flipping my Kindle over, I think I just deleted my comment. I need to go back to bed. Got my first phone call at 5:56 a.m. it was the best 14 minutes and 26 seconds I've eds had in the almost 2 weeks she's been gone. She sounded great. She hasn't been able to do anything because she ended up with pneumonia. She is back at the doctor tomorrow for a second X-Ray and clearance. She said that her division hasn't started doing too much, yet. So she should still be able to PIR on time. So we shall see. She said if she is cleared tomorrow than she can start on Monday. It was great to hear her voice. She hasn't received any of our letters yet. The mail person has only picked mail up once and only a portion of it was picked up. I told her when it was picked up she'd have lots from us, as I write her every day. Her sister and dad have also written a couple of times. She did say when she gets to mail my letters I'd be getting lots, as she has also written home everyday. I have a feeling that may change when she gets to start training. I have had very little sleep, and can go back to bed on cloud 9. Keep your phones on and nearby. Ship 11 Division 255 are starting to make their calls. Enjoy your day.
I put wrong ship number, sorry guys Ship 13 was my first sailors ship number... it was ship 11/255 hope everyone got to talk to their SR
Wow, SailorMoon, interesting that the Recuit Mail Petty Officer doesn't pick up the mail daily? Have never heard that before. So glad you got to talk to her! Very early morning phone calls can be scary, but this one was worth its weight in gold, I'm sure!
All on the west coast like SailorMoon remember that you may get very early morning calls with the time difference!
Too funny, Lala, re: your comment to the Dell rep. I am on my 2nd Dell desktop (first one was 8 yrs old and only changed because Microsoft was no longer supporting the program I was using). So far, so good, but have only had it for 3 mos. I have a Toshiba laptop....2007....but slow....need a new one....but want Windows 7, not 8---so looking online since most are selling Windows 8 in stores. Was hoping my nephew who worked for Microsoft for years and now is with Google would help me....but....sigh...he is not too interested in helping me with my "low" budget....oh well....I will figure it out!
Good Morning Everyone!
