Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Are you on AOL or another browser that saves the history of the sites you've been on? I just go to the tab that pulls up the last 300 pages that I have been on during the last couple of days or so and click on Boot Camp Moms or the PIR group and it brings me right to the page. Sometimes I need to reload the page if there has been several comments made since I was on the group to see the most current postings.

Doggroomer, My son called Sunday and had been sick,thought it was strep throat too.He said he was drinking alot of tea with honey!! He called yesterday afternoon and said he is starting to feel better. Voice coming back. Must just be something going around there!!

thisistuff: When you get the the N4Moms main page, click on the MY PAGE tab at the top. That will take you to your "personal page." There you can check for comments from others at the bottom of your page. Look on the left of your page and click on this PIR group name, listed under your"groups." That should bring you right here!

Doggroomer: Sickness is so rampant at Bootcamp. But the RDCs are sensitive to this and try to give them light duty when needed. Hope he feels better soon!

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. I am now in VA Beach on Baby Watch :) I came a little early so I could help mt Sailor finish getting the nursery ready. Good thing my work travels pretty easily. It looks like I have moved in here lol. They may need to build me a craft room lol, I was able to go out and get some pics of the Truman as it left :)

Did anyone else get a call from ship 12? I didn't get one today. I talked to him yesterday and he said he's sick. Thinks he has strep throat, he said it's really going around.
