DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Pamela J I know exactly how you feel & my son is is 03/315/316. I assume the same thing but I wonder if that means I won't hear from now until the next time the whole division gets to call home again or if he will have the chance to call before then. I am starting to feel like my guts are being torn out.

Just got off the phone with my son I am the happiest mom in the world. He sounded great. He had made some great friends said he was working hard and doing very well in the athletics department. God is good!!

He has calling cards!

Comment by Pamela J on July 13, 2013 at 4:56pm

No call from my SR on 12/313! I was doing great till I saw 12/313/314 were receiving calls. Now it's moved to other ships. I am assuming that means I am out of luck for today. No call to his gf either. We are all bummed. Can they have watch or other things that keep them from being free to call.

Comment by BeckyW Ship13Div 311 on July 13, 2013 at 4:51pm

Mine mentioned that they are in a push division too.  I am not sure why since he's been there since 6/20, so he will have been at GL for a total of 9 weeks before PIR.  But, he said something about them having a hold during P Days and the Holiday messing up their schedule.  I'm just glad I had that time with him today!!  Div 311/312 just had Day 1-5 on Friday if that helps you keep up. Also he did mention that some people had dental work and were SIQ and not with them making calls.  If  you didn't get a call today, don't lose hope!!

I got my call just a few minutes ago. I am thrilled. He is doing well and training hard. He is a road guard, and is doing a lot of running. Ship 09 div 320

Comment by Doggroomer on July 13, 2013 at 4:45pm
Sorry I ment IT. Intensive Training. He said the worst one is sitting on their butts with their steel toed boots on and legs straight, then lifting their heels 6 inches off the ground and doing leg lifts without touching the ground. He said it wouldn't be so bad in running shoes, but their boots are heavy.

I got my call, Ship 14 div 318, he sound OK, but he said they talk too much and have some trouble, Mom is happy!... hope every Mom have the chance to have the call!

NavyBugsMom:  Yes, it is a little hard to follow the "push" divisions' training since it is "stepped up" a bit.  ellen had a son in a push division so she can shed more light on it.  One thing is for sure....their PIR date is still  08/23!
