N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good news!!! The RTC has posted divisions, and there are only 11 divisions this TG. Each recruit is allowed 4 guests at PIR.

Andrea, There is still hope for the form letter. Seeing that your SR is probably in the last division of this TG and I know they were on hold it may take a few more days.

The last two division in a TG can sometimes take longer to fill, and then they end up as a push division. If that happens it will really confuse you if you try and follow along with what the other divisions are doing.

Hang in there things will start happening for you soon!

Nothing yet for me either, no form letter. Feeling very hopeless :-(

I'm so glad that I was able to give you all some positive news today.  I bet that a lot of you get your letters tomorrow.  I live closer to GL than most.  He had nothing but good things to say except that marching was hard...lol!  He even said they had been told that they might be able to make a call in a week.  That was as of July 6th.

Wouldn't that be SWEET!

Love having you guys to share the good and the bad with:)

In my letter last night I mentioned it. I know they're pretty limited what they can carry. Planning on making some jambalaya to bring with us to PIR in case he wants to eat some in the room. :)

Andrea, don't abandon ship yet.  I know it's tough but Mom's are strong, remember?  I don't know when your son left but it looks like he was in the last division to be formed so maybe their schedule is a little behind my daughters.  I just got her form letter last Friday and from what i'm reading I shouldn't get my hopes up of getting a letter from her today because I know it's a big let down when it's not there.  Congrats to Paula for getting a letter!!  Thanks for sharing!  We can all just believe that they're all making lots of friends!!

Andrea, don't worry.  The Div 311 SRs have been gone since around 6/20 (that is 20 days since I've heard from mine) and Paula just got a letter today...the rest of us haven't yet.  When my Niece was at RTC it was about 21 days before my sister got anything.  We can do this!

I felt so much disappointment at the mailbox this afternoon.  Paula, you made my day!  I am so glad that your SR said they are all getting along and making lots of friends.  It really brings me comfort. Thank you so much for sharing!
