Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I am trying to remember which section I believe it was in with all the information about graduation, could be wrong I have read so much, but it said something about sending your SR an index card so they could write all their flight information for you so that you could meet them at the airport & spend time with them there until their flight left. It said something about going to the USO counter and they could give you a guest gate pass.

My son is also going to Pensacola. I read some where about "grad & go" or something like that. I guess this is when they graduate and leave hours later. When do you think we will know if this is the case with our son ? I hope we have more than a couple of hours with him after PIR, especially because were coming out from California.

Fingers crossed that I get a letter or phone call from my SR this week. These last three weeks have been really rough.

We got a call! There was more information needed for his paperwork, but to hear him say he's doing good was all I needed! He even had time to say he was getting our letters.

HI LADIES !!! SO EXCITED... I recieved my sons paper work over the weekend and it says (of course if all goes well) PIR will be 8/23 !!! yayeeee.. cant wait we are so excited. Still havent recieved a call but thats ok.. and maybe for the best. I want to make sure he stays focused. I look forward to hearing everyones plans and ideas for the trip :) take care
