Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning!
Becky, let us know how it was. We have not heard of anyone staying at the Libertyville Hampton before so have no info on that one.
Yes, I would think so. RTC would be setting the rules for him, not GL A School. The A School is the one who prohibits the students from visiting the Gateway hotel without a deviation chit.
Diannpep no he is going to A school in Fl, so he should be able to come back to the navy gateway hotel on PIR day?
Codeman that is such a good idea. I wish i had done that :)
We called a lot of hotels and either the rates were high or the reviews were not good, so we opted to make reservations at the Hampton Inn in Libertyville. It's about 7 miles but we will have our car and that's really not that far. They have a nice discount for PIR and the staff is SUPER nice, no fees if you need to change your date as long as you let them know before 6pm on the night of the reservation. Free hot breakfast too. :) I've never been unhappy with a Hampton Inn. I hope I can still say that after this trip!
Christina,
Sarge is a retired Army veteran who lives in the Great Lakes area and loves to help the Navy families. He is a wealth of information. He holds a Meet & Greet at the Sundance Saloon the Thursday evening before graduation PIR (Pass in Review)which is for the Navy families only so he can give out all kinds of information and he provides a buffet of yummy food too out of his own pocket. This business is closed to the public. It is kid and family friendly and goes from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. He also runs a shuttle service from the airports to the hotels and PIR--also, anywhere else you need a ride. You sign up for his shuttle at the Meet & Greet or if you can't be there, call him to have him add you to his schedule. His fleet consists of mini vans. There is a box at the Meet & Greet for donations. He charges $3 per person to get you to PIR and even though I rented a car, I opted to use his shuttle to bypass the line of cars and it was just easier to use his service for that. It's another $3 to get you back to your hotel and my Sailor daughter rode back for free.
He provides free shuttle service to his Meet & Greet from the 4 hotels Diannep provided below: Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Residence Inn, and Holiday Inn Express. There is a charge from Navy Lodge.
Some hotels have their own shuttle to PIR and it is the same charge as Sarge's if they do. If not, Sarge is definitely available! SARGE 847-212-0246 or JohnSpadaro@att.net
For those of us that feel at a loss & need something to make us feel better, a family member of mine whose son was also in the Navy called me tonight and told me instead of wasting all my frustrations on something I have no control over go out, go shopping and buy myself a special box so that when the letters do come, which they will, you'll have someplace special to keep them. I have to say I did what she said and it really did make me feel better. I placed the form letter, his ticket stubs and little things that were in his box when I got it and my heart feels much better. Now when those special letters come in I have a wonderful place to protect them.

You can text or call him. He also has an email address you can use if you prefer that.
