Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Best FREAKIN day EVER! Just got off the phone with my daughter!!!!! We talked for 10 minutes 8 seconds.
She's doing GREAT you guys! Tears all around, but she's fine! Says the food is really good and she 's glad to be in the 941 division. She said they have  the nicest ship and a fancy bathroom with double flushing toilets LMAO! Tomorrow she goes to medical and gets the dreaded peanut butter shot and dental. She also talks to her interviewer (about security clearance stuff).
OMG! So excited. Anyway, she hung up before her call was over to try and call her boyfriend. I don't know if she was able to call or if he got the call yet. But I am a happy happy happy camper! ♥

She talked to him for about 20 minutes then called me back!!!!!!!! I got 18 minutes and 44 more seconds!

sailor moon, you can request calling cards from callsforrecruits.org  He will send you 8 1x use calling card numbers.  Before my SR even left the airport, he  shared 2 of the card number with his MEPS roomie.  I also sent him with a full book of stamps. They supply them with some stationery and envelopes, and I believe they can buy calling cards and stamps as well if they need to. I would send him some stamps and the card numbers if it was my SR. :) That way he won't have to spend money on them.
