Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 942

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

SIQ means :

SIQ - Sick In Quarters - Really Recruits who are very sick or have extensive dental work are confined to their rack.

I got a letter today.  Sounds a lot more rushed than past letters.  They had their 2nd PFA on 8/5 and she passed.  They had their weapons turnover inspection (WTI) that same day.  She said the division score was "awesome" and they got cookies again with dinner for the first time in a while :)  She mentions that most of her division is in their 20s with the oldest being a male SR who is 30.  She really enjoyed shooting and did very well with the 9 mm.  She knows she scored well on the close range.  She doesn't know her score on the long range, bur is hoping for a sharpshooter ribbon.

They had their drill inspection on 8/9 and did really well as a division and they had their second test that afternoon which she passed.  She did caution us that the chances of getting anymore calls before PIR are beyond slim.  She mentions that they have their first PIR "performance" on 8/16.

She mentions that this week they are in their final evaluation phase.  They will have on last PI (Personal Inspection), DMI (Departmental Material Inspection), PFA and Test.  She says the "gas chambers" is on Friday 8/16.

She does mention how 7 people have been ASMOED since they started, and 2 in the last week.

As best as I understand it, they are sent for physical therapy or medical treatment for an injury or major illness.  One of the girls that my daughter was close to injured her knee.  Her PIR is delayed at least 3 weeks as a result and she is moved to another division.  Weapons training was last week.

Hang in there!

Jools

what is asmoed?

Navy slang for being sent back a week in training.  Maybe a SR was hurt or needs to work on something just a little longer.

Great to see my SR and her bunkmate today!  Love technology!  Can't wait for next week and hopefully an even better view of them!

No calls, no letters. If I hear ANYTHING, I will msg you. I'm spending this week doing cleaning projects which include dusting and freshing-up my daughters room (which I really haven't been in since I cried myself to sleep on her bed) and canning. Just anything that will make me tired and keep my mind clear.

Anxious...no freaking out. We're almost there!

I received a letter from my sr today! Very interesting to say the least. I wish I could talk about it without getting anyone in trouble. I would love to vent!

This is supposed to be a safe place for us to cry, vent, laugh...but I understand.  If you have "friends" on here or maybe vent to one of the admins...they're seasoned and could probably bear what it is you need to vent.  Also...they might have some really good advice too.

Praying for you and your SR!

What I would like is to speak with an administrator. Any suggestions. It is complicated. I need to find out if there is anything that would hold my SR from moving forward and taking BS next week.

diannep, LaLa Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons, CatMom509 are some of the very active administers for our group.  Private msg them and ask them if you could "talk" to them about your situation.

Also, maybe give your daughter's recruiter a call.  They MAY be able to help out.

I have been praying for you and then all of 942.  Whatever the situation, just know you have people who may not know you, but care about.  *hugs*

I have a hunch I know what your concerns are and they are weighing heavily on me too based on what my daughter has mentioned in the last 2 letters.
