N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

oh...the longest hug I had from my son since he was little...:0 Yes, you can hug at PIR...just no gropping...:))

Actually I was a little frozen in my seat because I was at the top row of the bottom bleachers, leaning on the wall before PIR started plus my family was napping since we were in a different time zone. I stood on the bleacher most of time to see everything....love that spot, being a little on the short side, no one behind me but the wall....I brought a bleacher blanket because it was cold in March but mostly it helped same my seat for when I wandered around.....because I became really good friends with the coffee booth....:)

Our SR informed us he could not hug or kiss in uniform on or around base. Hugs will have to wait until they are off base. Or do they make an exwption for PIR?

Now packing and traveling for some today...:) Enjoy your PIR....get there early! Don't run anyone over....be calm..many that are going are not as informed as you mommas, they will be pushy and sometimes rude..it's all good...the doors will roll up soon enough and then liberty call....yes, go hug your sailor, many will just sit there and not know what it's about.....but you do!

Congratulations to all the Sailors!  I joined this group because I was sending mail to a SR in Div 328.  (my Sailor had his PIR in March)

For those driving-take your time and stop for gas and rest breaks! I drove in March from NY State and the hubs wouldnt let me drive alot-he knew I would be speeding and wouldnt stop!  The drive home was a different story!

Stock your hotel room with your Sailors favs, charge their phone & laptop, send a text to their phone with a pic of the open PIR door!

They will be a little nervous being out and about on their own-uniform in any public space-covers on if outside...

Carve out a little 'business' time with your Sailor to review any bills they may be paying (phone, student loan, credit card, car) and try to get passwords if you dont already-had an experience with his cell carrier-was going to cut service!

Have a great time-big hugs, pics, more hugs, more pics-you get it...

And mommas join your 'A' school groups when you get home!
