N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep: Thank you for the information. I will research Southwest Airlines.

Ok ladies and gentleman, I have a mission for those of you with daughters in this TG. Ask your SR if she is in an all female division.

Starting this summer the RTC will have one all female division per TG, I don't have any idea which TG it will start with, but...since this TG formed fairly quick and the TG before took a long time to fill up, it makes me wonder if this TG and the previous TG have the first all female divisions in over a year. :)

Let me know if you find out. :)

Iri:  These ladies on here will be a godsend to you!  All are in the same "boat"...missing their SRs!  You can comfort each other!

Check out Southwest Airlines into either Milwaukee WI (45 min drive to GL) or Chicago-Midway (hour+ drive to GL).  No change fee, first 2 bags check for free.

I'm looking forward to Sarge's meet and greet.  This couple sounds amazing that they do this for every PIR.

Sorry, Iri deleted that last message.  (Forgot which group I was typing on.)  Hope everything is going well now.  I don't know if I could have pulled that off getting him to MEPS in one hour.  That was amazing.  At least you had checked out this sight before hand.  They have a lot of information that really helped me before my son left.

Hello everyone...my son turned 18 this past May, graduated High School in June, was supposed to go to boot camp in Sept., but his recruiter called on 6/26th and asked if he wanted to leave that day, to my surprise, and against my wish, he decided to go. Of course I supported his choice. In a matter of one hr., from getting that call,, I had to drop him off for MEPS, and he was gone. I was so stressed. In that hour I logged to this website to figure out, what I needed to do, I had browsed trough it casually before, and I have to say, the advise and resources are a blessing! I missed out on our last Summer together, and never got a chance to do all the things that needed to be done. I miss him so much, everything reminds me of him, and his baby pictures are treasures, how time flies! Anyway, I'm in need of advice, does anyone recommend a particular airline? One that does not surcharge, if you have to change your flight day.

see-through slacks and colored underwear are suggested PIR dress for men and women (that comment is for pat e and ellen who started that line of conversation!)

:-)

pat e, we always welcome men on our site...especially former military!  Thanks for your service to our country!

I'm another N4Moms veteran here to answer questions for all.  Just ask!  Our team is here to help!
