N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

"It" not "t"

Comment by diannep on August 27, 2013 at 10:47am

t would be unlikely that they fly out on Monday due to full flights from civilians returning from Labor Day weekend vacations.  But Sunday departures would be a good possibility!  Hoping that many (if not all!) of you get extra time with your sailors this weekend!

The good news for those staying in GL for A School is that you will get Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon (Daytime Liberty) with your new sailors.  Hope all of you can stay through this extended time!

Good Morning All!  Calls expected today from 327/328/942, we think!  Keep those phones attached this afternoon....the I'm a Sailor call is great!

Lisa:  The only way your SR would have been moved to another division would have been if asmoed(setback) in any way.  In that case, you should have received a call. How did you know that the division number changed, or are you just wondering if it did?

Lisa did it change to another DIV with the same PIR date? When did it change? Was it changed from a 900 division to a regular division? That does sometimes happen if they need more study time or are having trouble with the PFA.

BigRed, the only way the holiday might affect when they leave is if there are not enough flights for them. In that case they may fly out on Sunday or even Monday and that would give you extra time with them. The bad thing is there is no way to know that for sure until you get to PIR. Here is a sample of an information card that you can mail to your recruits now and have them fill it out when they get their flight info and then give it to you at PIR, tell them not to mail it. This info will keep you from going to the wrong airport which has happened several time. If you forget to mail it or they don't get it in time be sure and get that info from them when they go back to their ship right after PIR to sign out for liberty.

Please fill this out when you get your flight itinerary/orders and then give it to us at PIR. Do not mail it.

Anyone know why a SR division number would change before their graduation date? I have not heard from my SR and I am planning to leave tomorrow for the long drive from Texas.
