N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning, YAY, it's Friday!

Sis2 few, That is so awesome about your son's letter-I would cry too and then be giddy if my son said some of those things!

Michelle, my son is ship 3, div 328...where is yours?  Wondering if they've met!

Nancy:  I know the feeling.  I hated being tied to my phone when my son was there.  Even took it into the bathroom and when getting the mail.  But it is well worth it when that call comes!

april:  Don't think they will fly out on Monday....too many people flying that day.  But it is very possible that some could leave on Sunday.

Eagle fan, glad he's feeling better!
Sis2few, thanks for sharing your letter! I'm sure most of them are a little shell shocked!

Hi all.  I've been really missing my son, who left for BC June 26th. I've been wondering if he's okay etc. and today I get my first real letter from him. Yay! The form letter came last week. The first thing he says is, he loves and misses me and he's sorry for all the hard times he gave me about not cleaning his room and he appreciates all the things I did for him to make his life the best I could.  O-M-G... I cried at least 10 minutes before I could finish the letter, lol.  He says all is as well as expected and the main thing he misses is sleep and showering alone-lol.   I was so glad to hear from him and he didn't seem overwhelmed with homesickness.   Can't wait to see him and his new Sailor attitude PIR weekend.

I'm so bummed!! I'm going to write and fuss at my SR!! No letter and no phone call and it's been 3 WEEKS!!! I really miss him and wish I had some word from him as to how he's doing!! If any of you hear from your SR's  in Div 321 tell them to let Evan know to get out of the shower and write his Mother!!!  LOL

Nancytysmom, My SR is Div 322. I am assuming he meant those on his ship were sick. He said he was not feeling well at the end of last week, but was feeling better when he wrote the letter, Sunday.

i know i asked this already but i either did not get a response or i overlooked it (which is totally possible, i have so many emails from this site now lol) but for the vet moms.... do you really think our SRs might not get sent out until sunday or monday after PIR?? my flight home is scheduled for sunday and we are leaving from milwaukee. which pretty much guaruntees we wont be able to see him my husband at the airport AT ALL if he leaves sunday. i also won't be able to give him his cell phone. he's going to sc and then coming to get me and my daughter. so he kinda needs his phone.
