N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

So cool to see all these happy moms!  I'm smiling big even though I couldn't talk to my son.  SO glad he as able to talk to his dad!

I just got an unexpected phone call from my daughter. It was so amazing to hear her voice even though I could tell she was crying. I held it together to get through the conversation, reminded her how proud we all are of her and how much I love and miss her. When I got off the phone I cried like a baby. But it's years of happiness to know that she's hanging in there. We just got to talk for a few minutes because she wanted to call her dad, too. I am one happy mama today!

PLEASE tell your loved ones when they call that if they get a bad connection they should push the phone cord up into the telephone! Don't want what happened to us to happen to you.  I got my call from my son 3 times and I could never hear him. Luckily he could hear me and I did talk to him.  He was finally able to get through to his dad, again 3 tries.  When I posted on Navy Moms on Facebook, some of the moms there gave me the above suggestion- said there are a couple of bad phones on the phone bank.   I was devastated to think my boy wouldn't get the chance to talk to anyone so thrilled when my husband called to tell me Matt got through to him.

I'm just heart sick. I had to leave for work and was not gone but 2 minutes when my SR called!!!! I Missed Him!!!! My DH talked to him for a few minutes but then they were told to get off the phones and he had to go.  DH said he sounded upbeat too.  I haven't heard his voice since 6/27 and I really miss him. So bummed but glad for the rest of you who got to hear from your SR's.
