Got another letter today that says they now will be able to have time to write everynight!! YAY let the letters flow!!

Thats great, Happy for you, maybe our son will actually send us another one, since all his time won't be occupied b writing friends.

Its very possible they have :-) I'm glad that something my son enjoys is the 'punishment' if things go bad.  Yeah my son got almost 15 mins when he did call, it was fairly loud in the background so missed some of what he sd. but from what he sd it was actually going pretty well.  He sd. as long as you are already in good shape and keep your mouth shut things were fairly easy.

Hello all! On Cloud Nine right now. Got two letters from my SR. He sounds so much better now. Said they had a "wet night" on 8/1/12. If you have any clue what that is, let me know. LOL! He is reading his bible more often and actually quoted scripture back to me! Can I get a HALLELUYAH and let the church say AMEN! He also said that his RDCs are letting them write more so I needed to send him some stamps... Ohhh and before I completely thought some alien life form had possessed my son, he tells me he has lost his ID and needs me to contact his recruiter for a copy of his copy... *rolling my eyes* Gotta love him.... now mama to the rescue, but when he gets out, he is handling his own business from now on! LOL!

GraceRae:  They may be allowed to write every night, but they still usually limit when they can mail out.  Which would mean...lots of letters at one time!  YAH!

luckied:  Yep, that is what my son had said too when he was here.  Listen, comply, keep mouth shut (which is hard for him!)....and things go a little better!

Lol I know..they can only send out on Sundays but usually I have been getting one letter a week and it's been like half a page lol so I'm excited for more than that!

Hey ladies.. Seems like most of you arent around here anymore but I got another letter today. He wrote that they got their extra writing time taken away so hes super bummed! He said the TP sucks and he misses us like crazy. He wrote that after A school he will get 14 days leave but if he volunteers at a recruiting station he gets an extra 5 days so it sounds like thats what hes going to do.. Anyways just thought I would try to keep anyone updated on what I have heard

Hi GraceRae., My SR is on Ship 09 Div 274 also.Hes doing alot better as the time goes on. Im so thankful to hear that!

Got a 12 min phone call today! sounds like they are pulling in the reins and doing better. they have all but one flag now and are working much better as a team...he said his close buddy is the other watch section leader for the starboard side so if anyone knows who that is please message me:)

My son is in Ship 09 Div 274.  I'm so disappointed because I missed his call yesterday (8/13)!  He tried to reach his grandmother and uncle, and missed all of us!  Argh!  His last call was just 4 minutes long on 7/26.  I have been getting letters though. His first letter started with, "Dear Mom, Summer camp is great!  I'm meeting lots of new friends. The food here is better than home!"  He's been able to keep his sense of humor at least. He said he'd been sick and lost is voice a couple of times, but nothing that kept him out of exercises.  I didn't realize they were having guys get their wisdom teeth out and contracting chicken pox?  Yuck.  Sounds like the team is settling into their routine and training now. My son is starved for news of the world, so we are sending movie reviews, articles, pictures of our summer events, and keep him up-to-date on the medal count for the Olympics.  I imagine as they get closer to "Battleship" (is that right?) that he won't have much time to write before graduation.  I've enjoyed hearing the updates from the other members!

Well it's official, I am going to PIR! I have waited for for God to make a way for me to see my son graduate and He did!! I will be contacting Sarge to find out if he works the Wadsworth, IL area. (Last Minute hotel choice) Hope to meet some of you there!

Yay Geraley T!!  Me too!! I swore I'd sell a kidney if I had to to get to PIR, but GOD is GOOD!! We are arriving Thursday evening...cant wait to see our boys!!!  I mean fine young MEN!!!  We are going to be the proudest moms ever!!!  I hope I get to meet you there!!
