Hi everyone.

This is those in Ship 12 brother divisions 271/272.

My SR is in Div 272.

From what I can gather, tomorrow will be 1-2 for our SRs.

How is everyone doing? What are you struggling with? Share some good news.

Let's help each other get through this together. We will have Sailors before you know it.  :)

GANukeMom - Well...don't be sorry...that's what we are here for! I know it is not the same as having soemone right in front ofyou...but this little site does the best it can! You've got a lot on your plate...add your son setting out on his path and that is very hard...for all...so we "get" you!

You just may get a security clearance call...not all do. Look for the 847 area code. US GOVERNMENT or PAY PHONE.

As for letters from others. I addressed and stamped the envelopes myself and gave them a small paper with the do's and dont's. But then he did not have enormous amounts of folks writing to him! Could get expensive! So variations on that. I know it is frustrating but this doesn't affect them the way it does you. They can only sympathize...but not empathize.

When my husband was deployed...I knew folks would want his address...I didn't want to be jotting it down on napkins etc...wheer it could get lost. So, I bought some inexpensive blank business cards and printed it up on those. Then I just handed them out.

I hope you get letter and/or call soon!

It's been a long weekend for me. I have really missed my SR this weekend. We did a "family" weekend and part of the family was missing. What day of training are our guy doing today?

That is exactly what I was thinking kbreanne0602. That means that if what they say is true about getting calls on 2-5, we should get ours on Thursday.

God help my co workers if I were to get it when I'm at work. It could make for an interesting first day back/pre-planning :). It would put me on a high that I haven't been on since we got the short note on the back of his form letter. It is something that all 3 of us need. For my husband and little girl's sake I truly he calls after I get home, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth either.

mom38024, I hope today is better for you. We are still having a hard time adjusting as well. My 6 year old takes her Bubba Bear Everywhere with her. He is her pseudo brother right now. We are letting her handle all of this the way that makes her feel best. Just like the rest of us are.

Thank you. I thought that was 2-2 but I wasn't sure. Have a great day!

Received our first letter from our son today. I sent him the form letter and received allot of information from him. He informed us that he has a job as a runner and supply's for the RDC's not sure what it entails, but he says he likes it, and that he is having fun.

Rick - Proud Dad of a Navy Sailor!

Hey ladies my name is Sam. I'm not a navy mom but a loving significant other. My SR is in Division 271 and is probably one of the older recruits LOL. This is the longest we've gone without contact since we met 2.5 years ago. I got my letter last Thursday. Waiting on another :) and crossing my fingers and toes on a phone call. I have no military in my family, where as his family is all ARMY, so I'm new too ALL of this :).  Im excited to see him everyday.

How old is he?

He is 19, how about yours. any news from your on PIR?

Here are some pretty custom bracelets I make for military support :)

Does anyone know if the sailors are definitely allowed to ride back on the shuttles?

Yes they can and most often, they ride for free. Remember to bring a towel for them to sit on so that they do not mess up their uniform...they will be in Whites after all.

They started week 4 this past Friday. It is a week of inspections. I got 2 letters but no calls this week. I'm not expecting another one until after Battlestations.
