my daughter is in in 275.
i got a letter from her saturday stating that someone broke out with the chicken pox and that there were other illness' going around so that both her's 275 and the brother company 276 were all in quarentine. i am wondering if this will affect their graduation date? i have not recieved a phone - which makes me very sad - but i have gotten quite a few letters from her.
sgraham: Oh boy....but don't think it will affect their PIR date. They can make up time....not sure what the incubation period is for chicken pox, but they will only quarantine for that amount of time, hope no one else gets it, and then back to training.
You all please be sure to stay on the main PIR page here too. We N4Moms veterans try to drop into the discussions but being on 6-8 PIR groups at once, we really don't have the time to check on here regularly. But we do check the PIR main pages daily to offer info/catch questions so be sure to be checking/posting there too!
i recieved another letter from my daughter - she stated that they were still having to have body checks but that they were all starting to feel better from the other illness'. so hopefully they are over the worst of whatever they have going on over there.
Got a very short (literally 2 sentences) letter today...he said that this week was hard, and he needs more mail.
I've already got several other moms writing him...and his GF....and he gets at least a letter a day from me...geez...
I know...it's hard.
I'm really ready for PIR already!! I can only imagine how bad they're wanting it over.
Hope all is well with everyone...I'm heading over to FB now to post and read there too.
Have a great evening.
Our daughter in law is in Ship 09, Div 275. Our son had PIR 12/2/11 and we are so proud of both of them. I got a letter from her last week and she sounded really good. Praying that you all get your letters soon. It is frustrating I know but it will soon be over. Please take their cell phones, IPads etc to PIR with you and give them to your SR after graduation. 20 more days parents and you will have all the communication you had before boot camp with your SR. I am praying you all get your "I'm a Sailor" call. It is a very special call. My SR talked non-stop for 45 minutes when I got mine. Hugs to all of you!!
My daughter just got transferred into this Division from being a med hold, due to breaking her leg. I am wondering when we should be getting the "I'm a Sailor" calls. I am very proud of her, but this has been the hardest couple of weeks in MY LIFE! The uncertainty has killed me.
Thank you for any and all assistance you can provide.
Good evening!! From what I've read, this would have been their Marlinspike week. My SR/son's GF said he had written Sunday that Marlinspike was Monday. As of last week he still had not gotten to go to classifications. They took their big Test #2 this week as well, although I'm not sure whether that was the academic or PFA (PT test) ....I'd love to know...am waiting on more news...so if anyone gets anything, please pass it along.
I'm hoping that it's all going well, and that they're beginning to get over the illnesses and some of the other issues...it's time for them to work as a team so that we can see them again!!
Have a great evening, and an even better weekend!!
Wahoo: The I'm a Sailor calls for these divisions (they train together and will go through BattleStations together) should come early during PIR week. My guess would be the calls will come either Tues afternoon or Wed afternoon of PIR week.
Got a letter Saturday that Div 275 passed their Marlinspike and my son passed his PFA and blew through weapons inspection!! It was short and you could tell he was full of JOY and very PROUD of hisself and the entire Division! I am so proud of them all.
Not sure about the rest of you, but i am SUPER excited for the upcoming PIR and for the chance to finally see my daughter with my own eyes and hug her. I am so very proud of her and the rest of the recruits !!
I got my phone call yesterday from my daughter! How exciting to hear her voice and know that she is OK. She did most of the talking which is great and fine and i think that i can finally relax and get some good sleep before we see them on graduation day. !!
Yeah on the Phone call for you!
I got a really long letter today (by comparison to the previous 2 sentence letters!!LOL)
Says that he's fine...ready to be done. They're coming together, but the illnesses are keeping things a little more challenging...hard to get all the PT in when you're stuck in quarantine...but he's keeping his sense of humor.
I'll be so happy to see him...and even happier when he's back down here and at A school and we can talk regularly! I might even get a good night's sleep then!
