Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

hey ladies...did anyone receive a phone call today? I didn't. Maybe it's still too early. I was hoping that we might. Do you think they've gotten any of our letters yet? Do they only get letters on Sundays or do they get them everyday?

no phone call... i hoping maybe this coming week (fingers crossed) Im hoping they have.... I believe they have to train the mail recruit and i think thats what be what takes our letters a little bit longer to get to them... also probably also they permanently get settle on ship btw wk 2 n wk 3 i believe... so hopefully will have better communication soon.. I think they get letters whenever then can b distributed... my hubby told me that they have liberty day within there compartment from730-1300 so im guessing they have time to rest, chat, hang out,, and WRITE :) lol.... so hopefully they put all those bad boys in asap manana,,, :) the stalkin of the postman believes... here we go.... My mom lives in san francisco and thats where me and my hubby are originally from we stay an hour drive away but my mom still stays in the city....

Did anyone receive a letter today? We haven't since the 1st letter last Wednesday. Really missing my SR today. His girlfriend has started a Navy Scrapbook so that has been helpful to look at. How is everyone else doing today?

no letter here...i figure if it's like last week they wrote Sunday and we'll probably get Wed or Thu? That's how it was last week...You know what I've been thinking...How in the holy heck did mom's and wives live through this stuff years ago before facebook and navyformoms.com? Seriously...I am losing it over boot camp and my husband's mom had a son in Vietnam...how in the heck is all I can say and thank you to the angels and saints that we have all that we do today right?

Oh no..Did you know they were going to pull the teeth? Do they pull everyone's teeth? My son said in his letter (and he's in the same ship/ division) that they were having to do extra IT (intensive training) because some people couldn't keep their mouths shut. I don't know what that means. Oh bobbymom...you poor thing...They are strong and we have to be too...But if I find out they pulled my SR's teeth and I'm not there to help or make soup, I would be going crazy too. I'll pray so hard for your boy. Try to sleep.

We had my sons wisdom teeth taken out before he left. I did not want him to deal with boot camp and that at the same time. Let's hope that by now people are doing what they are supposed to do. I imagine this happens in most divisions also. Some are ready, some not. Magnoliagirl1963-I can't imagine what this would be like without all the ways we have to communicate now. How did Mom's in the past deal with this? It makes me thankful that we do have it this good!

Ok this is weird. Haven't recieved the PIR letter or the form letter, but we did get last week a written letter, a 2 pager. Is this normal?

I don't think that is normal. In your next letter to him you might ask him about it. I think the rest of us received the form letter with the PIR info 1st. As far as Grad and Go I don't think we find out until a few days before they graduate. They will know and have to tell us. I read somewhere that most leave the following day unless there is some flight arrangement problem. Since it is the holiday weekend I think we are all hoping that they might get to stay a little longer with us.

Thanks, I'm hoping we do get longer as his 19th Birthday is the 3rd and I"m wanting to squeeze in one last birthday with him while I can. :) It's hard sometimes. It's been him and I agianst the world pretty much his entire life. Funnily enough I haven't cried yet. I"ve gotten misty but not the full on boo hoo'ing I expected. lol.
My son is going to be a Corps Man. So Proud I can't stand it.
