For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

See the curve in the yellow lines? Your Sailors are going to pass by the Stands starting with the first Division. When they get to the end of the Hall they will make a U-Turn, march back down to the end where they came in and then line up in formation by division first division to last.
The Sailors are standing by Division Markers to show folks where they should sit to see their Division. They are standing to the left of the Division a bit. Usually, these Sailors are the TG's Honor Recruits.

The restrooms are about half way down Midway Ceremonial Drill hall near the Canter stands for the Reviewing Officers/VIP stands.

Sophie - Ok, you got me with that one! I don't think I've ever been asked that before LOL!
It's funny though...there is a part of me that says "no, you can't"...but that wouldn't make sense! You gotta go, you gotta go!
I'll tell you what I'll do though, I'll say yes you may go to the restroom (I don't remember them saying to please remain in your seats, but it was four years ago) BUT, there are a couple of times during the ceremony that I would try to avoid it if possible (it can't be helped if you have to go and also small children). I'm going to list the Schedule for Graduation Day and the Sequence of Events for you and point out the areas to avoid getting up (these are just my personal opinion and suggestions).
These two items are from RTC Website:
Graduation Day Schedule*
6:30 am: RTC gate opens to guests.
7:00 am: Ceremonial drill hall doors open to guests.
8:45 am: All guests must be seated. Ceremonial drill hall doors close, no further entry for guests.
9:00 am: Pass-In-Review commences.
9:20 am: Divisions arrive.
10:30 am: Pass-In-Review concludes.
*Please plan on arriving at least 1.5 hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.(My note) This is what will happen between 9:20 - 10:30:
Sequence of Events
- Divisions Arrival
- Arrival Honors to Reviewing Officer/Official Party
- National Anthem
- Invocation
- Presentation of the Graduating Divisions
- Drill and Music Presentation
- Presentation and Reviewing Officer Remarks
- Reviewing the Line
-(My Note) From 9:00 to 9:20 the Performing Divisions will be doing a presentation of the Fifty State Flags.
So I would try and wait until after the Invocation to use the restroom. But hey, you know :-)
