for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

James mom (Robin),
Some of the SRs end up with watch duty and it is up to the RDCs to allow them a make-up call or not~
MsDiva: No worries....it happens in the guys' groups too....takes them a while to settle in, weed out those not serious about the Navy, and get the others on the same page....they get it together which you will see at PIR!
Tina: Here is the info on the RTC page specific to what you asked:
The Port/Starboard Watch Section Leaders are the senior Recruit Petty Officers for respective watch sections.
The Starboard Watch Section Leader (SWSL) shall serve as the division's watchbill coordinator. Watchbills will be prepared and subsequently submitted to the RDCs via the RCPO.
The Port Watch Section Leader (PWSL) shall coordinate the rotation of the ship watchstanders with the RDCs.
MyloScout, It is not a dumb question!
You can send a few photo copies of sports news from the paper, but don't send clippings. The ink transfers too easily, and black fingerprints not a good idea. I wouldn't send too many though, the RDCs can be a little picky on what the recruits receive.
Never ever send anything that is "news" related to your recruit, if it is important your recruits will get the news there from the command.
The link to the Recruit Petty Officer positions in located in the "PAGES" column here in this main page. The "PAGES" are located on the right side of this page under the member icons!
Thank you so much to Diannep and Ellen0502 for your info. Your wealth of knowledge is invaluable. On that note can anyone tell me what a port command is? My SR said that is his job and he is busy and slightly stressed and it comes with a lot of paperwork along with his regular work. He said he is happy to have it cause it will bump him up in his pay grade. Any info would be appreciated.
