For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by diannep on July 27, 2015 at 7:00am: kathryn: Remind your son that Bootcamp is an entity unto its own, as your family knows....the break down of the SRs and the build back up process---a tough time. Remind him that A School is a different experience--better, my sailor thought....it is hard when these SRs realize that the Navy pretty much "owns" them, but it is doable, again as you all know! Hopefully your next contact from him will be more encouraging!

I knew there were some problems at times with the Livestream working at all, but didn't know about the buffering problem. Hopefully they are working on this and will get it fixed. The Livestream is converted to a video later in the day so there is still opportunity to watch it....just not Live.

Comment by ellen0502 on July 27, 2015 at 2:20am: SomebodysMom, The 900 divisions do not have a brother division in training, except when there are two 900 divisions in one TG. Two 900 divisions generally only happens Dec thru March due to no recruits coming in to the RTC during holiday stand down.

The 900 groups when integrated works basically the same as the regular divisions, but since they are housed in a ship all to "themselves" (without regular divisions) they don't have the brother divisions switching issues with berthing.

That's is the general of it from how I understand it.
