I should be excited that I got the form letter today, but I feel a little let down. I must have misread information on this site...I was expecting there to be information on his A school and where and when he would ship out to it. It is supposed to be over 180 days, but barely...so I was counting on making sure that his orders didn't say unaccompanied so that I could get in tough with housing wherever he may be going and plan my move as well. Obviously, this is not on the form letter like I thought I had read, anyone know where and when that info will come? Also there was not even a space for him to right a note :(

No, the Form Letter is strictly for BC and PIR.

What is his rating (job)? We can try to figure out the school from that. He will get his orders near the end of Boot Camp.

I don't know much about DEERS and the rest of the spouse info as far as when, but I have seen ladies get it during BC. Are you on the Wives GF group?

I know...there used to be, I guess they changed it :-(.

Oh, you are! Please ask on there. I am an old fogey AF reservist wife and Hubby and I did that looooong ago!

They should be able to help you. I hope people aren't saying that about the Form Letter...that is real misinformation!

He will get his orders for "A" School almost at the end of bootcamp, so you need to wait until he is in school before you can do the housing thing.

As was asked...what is his job?  From that we can tell you where it is and IF he will be allowed to have the Navy pay to move his family down to the school.

His job is AV. I learned last night (through talking with the nice ladies on here) that his recruiter has given me some misguided information...

1) He said his job is AVE (even got a handout that says it lol) when really it is AV or AE. I looked through his contract and found AV.

2) He told us that I would be able to go to A school with him b/c it is longer than 6 months. His A school actually varies from 14-26 weeks. So, I will most likely not be eligible.

3) He said his A school could be anywhere...maybe San Diego or Norfolk or Pensacola, etc... According to the job description I have now found thanks to ya'll it says he will be in Pensacola.

4) He said several times that we would find out where we would be moving to after A school at the end of his boot camp....I have learned now that you don't find this out until the end of A school.

This all doesn't really surprise me that much as this is the same guy who gave me MEPS address when we were following them to the hotel and gave me the wrong mailing address for him twice, lol. Anyways I am taking it with a grain of salt and am happy to have found this site so now I can actually find out some correct information.
