For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Set back a week...what now? Help please...
We got a voice mail today from my son. All he said was that he was being set back a week. He didn't say why or when we'd hear from him again. It seemed to be a scripted call. I know he would have told us more if he was able. What now? How do we write to him...I'm assuming his ship/division will change. He would be starting his 3rd week today. what could have happened? If he was hurt would we have been told? If he can't call or write how do we find out what to do next?

That is correct...it would if he was injured he (should have) would have told you that in the call. Prayin for the best for him.

I am sorry that your son was setback. It is called ASMO - Assignment Memorandum. It can be done for many reasons. It was a scripted call.

They should be able to tell you what Ship /Div your son is in. Let me know either here or you can friend me and do this privately...I can help you with an address (generic Ship addresses are on the RTC Website). In the meantime...if you have mail and have sent it....it will be forwwrded to him...it may take a little longer rerouting through the system...but should get to him. Hang in there...{{HUGS}}

Thanks so much for the helpful information and support. We heard from our son and he is feeling better and anxious to get back to regular training...go figure...we do have his new contact information. His mail could take up to two weeks to get to him in his new unit but at least now we know he's better and where to write.

I am so sorry this happened. I worry about something like this everyday. Almost makes me hope for no phone calls, only letters. Please hang in there. I am glad FTLW gave you a way to find something out.
