My son is in this division.  He shipped out of New Orleans on 7/10.  I finally received the form letter today!  Looking forward to meeting others who have loved ones in this division.

I cant believe it is already approaching. I just had the what to pack talk with my other kids. By the way what is your name? Mine is Laurie. Hope Sarge gives us name tags to we can find our Divisions. I am so excited to get there.

I'm Sandy and of course you can tell I'm from New Orleans.  We are hunkering down for Isaac, but are thankful it is still only a tropical storm.  I'll be hanging around the house for the next 2 days, at least, depending upon what Isaac serves us.  I am very grateful that PIR was not this week, as my flight probably would have been cancelled.  I will be at Sarge's and looking forward to meeting you!   How many children are you traveling with?  I know you have a long drive.  I'm looking forward to just sitting down and talking with my son for hours!  I know it will be a very memorable weekend.  Keep in touch and of course, let me know when you hear from your sailor.   BTW, I will probably lose my internet connection with this storm, so  I may go "missing" for a while.         I'm so excited!   (I keep hearing that song in my head!)  Peace, Sandy

Thanks Sandy for chatting with me over the last several weeks. I hope Isaac stays just a storm. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and your family. We are coming from California (Northern part) I have 3 kids and my husband. Just went today to get our rental car for the trip. Now it is starting to feel real. Come Friday I probably wont be able to sit still. Looking forward to meeting you as well. I have friends in your area as well as family inTexas so praying for all. Eight weeks of talking to catch up with. Our SR's arent going to know what to do with us. :) Talk to you soon.

Hi friends,

I've been MIA for a few days due to Isaac.(No power, cable, or internet!)    I got my call and I have a sailor!  I sure hope everyone else got their calls.  Looking forward to meeting some of you in a few days.  It's been a pleasure chatting with all of you!     Sandy

Dear fellow 282r's!

It's been wonderful chatting with all of you.  I am sorry we did not get a chance to meet.  :(   With 798 new sailors, I was overwhelmed with how many people were there!  You have made this journey bearable. Thanks for all our your kind words and support.  I am so very proud of my son, but also all of our boys.  They are truly remarkable!
