My son is on ship 11 division 279.  Just got the letter day before yesterday.  I'm a little overwhelmed with the thought of finding airline tickets, hotel and rental cars.  I don't know which airport to come into...just a little overwhelmed.  Couple of days and I'll be on it.  Can't wait to see my son.

i went on line and got a hotel (Ramada Inn) very easy $74 per night..  I would imagine o'hare airport..  chicago...you are coming from?  we will be driving from michigan...

That is where we are staying this time too! we got the PIR package so we can join the social the thursday before how about you?

what is the pir package?  didn't see anything about that... did you book online or call them?  how much was your room with the pir package?  is the package per person or per room ?  I have 5 people going and 3 rooms

Do you mean the Meet and Greets that are available the night before for family and friends?

does anyone know what the pir package is or what the meet and greet is?

Yes, the meet and greet is the social Thursday befor PIR, and I paid 72.00 a night, and I registered on line. It was on of the options after i put in the dates we were staying there.

hmmm   i missed that.  i have to add Saturday night to my reservation so i will just call them. . Is the meet and greet for all?

Only for those there for a PIR. I do not knot know anything about it, just read about it on the pamplet that was sent out. Most of the hotels offer it and thought we would check it out this time.

i have emailed the hotel about this... so we will see.

Did any one get a letter from their SR on ship 11 Div 279?  I read that some have gotten letters. ran to the mailbox (was on vacation for 4 days) and nothing...  I wanted to cry, am really holding back, but i miss her voice and talking to her, and everyday without anything is getting harder and harder!!

I hope you have gotten mail by now.  My Son is in this division and the last I heard they are doing better than when they first got there.  Things are starting to move along quite nicely.  I can't wait to see them in the PIR and looking forward to meeting some of navy family that we are all a part of now.

My daughter is on Ship 11 Div. 279 and we received 4 letters from her so far.  The last one we just got on Saturday is by far the best one yet.  She was more up beat and even drew little pictures in her letter so I know things must be going better :-)

Yes, I will ask her if she knows who he is.  My daughte is the RCPO so you can ask your son if he knows who she is.  I'm thinking he probably does because she leads the group when they march.  I miss her terribly as well and I'm also waiting for graduation.  We are going to be so proud of them.  Does your son have a job there?
