Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Anna, I bet! Nights are the hardest aren't they? Our baby keeps me busy all day but once night time roles around, I dread it!

pmmom: With such a large PIR group, it is quite possible that they are reserving the Chapel, where they stream the Livestream, for overflow from the PIR Hall rather than for extras.  That is what happened in an earlier PIR group of 13 divisions.  If you want your two extras to try and get in the Chapel (there is no way they will be allowed in PIR Hall), then be sure to have return transportation available for them back to the hotel in case they are denied entry for this reason.

HooyahWife: there is something comforting about it. We're all in this together supporting all of them. I miss him so much I'm so bored without him.

Most hotels in the area, have PIR streaming in the hotel. Some in the lobby some in a conference room. The Navy Lodge has a wonderful sitting area for viewing the ceremony.

As always, we recommend that any extras that are not on the guest list remain at the hotel. The RTC says there is not a designated area for extras to view the ceremony, but the chapel has been used on occasion for that purpose.

It is totally up the the RTC as to whether or not the chapel will be used that day. If you have extra guests, and the chapel happens to not be available, those extras must leave base.

Congratulations HooyahWife!
Chrus' Mom, I read on their website that they do. And someone mentioned on a previous occasion in some of the nearby hotels they do too

Does Navy Lodge show graduation for family members that have to stay behind b/c of the 3 person limit?
