N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I do the same at work, but definitely not now. I'm taking a summer class in the evenings, I told the professor about the call. I also said, "I will respect you and everyone in the class so I will keep my phone on vibrate, but if you see me run out like a madwoman, it's that call". He said "I understand". Didn't realize I don't care if he understands, he was getting fair warning. Lol

Very comforting poppersmom, thank you. This phone is not leaving my side. It's so funny I've always said that I do not need to take my phone everywhere I go, and I will never run to answer my phone. Never knew the day will come when I will do not one but both.
The future is so unknown to us, never say never!

MrsG i was the same way waiting and waiting it's been to long weeks with hearing my sons voice it's terrible but his bestfriend was over this weekend out on leave and he told me they usually can make calls around the 3rd week of boot camp but just in case my phone is right by my side because he said because it's been two weeks that's a good thing it means he's doing good because the 1st 2 weeks are the hardest at boot camp.

So relieved to hear that kids can go to Sarge's Meet and greet! My daughter really misses her big brother and want to go too! I'm glad I'm not the only one with my phone glued to me! I feel like the guy in the commercial constantly checking for bars on my phone!

I have a question about PIR and the 3 guests. If I have more than the 3 will I be able to get the other 2 people on base to watch on a TV maybe from another building?  Or is it only 3 people on base period?

Comment by ellen0502 on July 27, 2015 at 12:47pm

Navymom, Unfortunately no. There are thirteen divisions in the TG, so only 3 guests allowed at PIR.
