Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 285 and 286

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My baby girl is in div 385 and she told us that she has made friends with several others in her div. She loves her bunk mate!
Hi. My son is div 285. I received my first letter today. I was so excited. I wish he hadn't said "shit" so many times in it. For instance, this shit is rough! I would have shown the letter to the grandparents but now I hesitate. Darn kids. He is a great young man and the funniest of all my kids, which had me a little worried. Can he tame that during BC? The general tone of the letter was that BC is tough but he is enjoying it a lot. He has made friends and really connected with his rack mate. I look forward to getting to know the other moms of recruits in this group. I hope you all receive mail soon.
My son is in this group 285 also. It was mostly about his trip out getting his uniforms clothes when they first got there as he missed the mail last week so two letters were in the same envie!! he also mentioned the F. Bomb which I didn't care for in our letter. He seemed to find the food ok He is getting tired getting up at 5 and doing exercise for other peoples mistakes they will learn the hard way ha ha!! Lots of insanity workouts!!
His bunkmate is having a hard time :( He had his funny moments too. It was great to get his letters !!
I guess we know where the phrase "swears like a sailor"comes from now! I have to remind my son to tone it down so I can share his letters with the older generation. I talked to him yesterday for about 20 minutes and he sounded good. He might be a bit homesick but he is pushing forward and meeting all expectations. He passed his first PFA. I worried that all his phone time would be spent talking to his girlfriend so it was a real treat to have such a nice long conversation. I hope your son is also doing well.

My daughter is in div 285 also. I'm lost on this site. Not tech savy at all, but am trying. She has made some new friends and really likes her rack mate. She wants me to connect with moms of the same PIR group. I like the idea. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling a bit lost at this time so look forward to meeting any or all who feel the same or have much needed info about this whole process.

My son is also in Div 285 ship 3;) He had a rough first few days but seems to be doing so much better, other than the fact that he has been sick. Sounds like Strep and pink eye and bronchitis is really going around pray they all stay healthy!

Correction - My son is actually in the 3/286 !! not 285 I am spending a lot of my time on the FB page too ladies !!

My son in 286...Ship 3 Ya! I finally have a connection with someone...whats up with trivia tuesday... I keep missing the quesions ?

What other information can you share about this division? My son is also in 286.....I have not heard from him at all> I did receive the box and the info letter, but no personal letters or no phone calls...concerned Mom!

I have tried to think "no news is good news" when it comes to not hearing from our SRs.  Maybe one of the other moms who's son is in 286 can get info about your son to ease your rmind.  You will need to friend them on here in order to private message them with his last name so they can ask their SRs and maybe convince your son to send a letter home so you know he's ok.

Grace I  private messaged you I can write my son and have him check ok he is in same division

My son in in 286 and just got a letter today. He said that some of the guys inluding him have been sick. My son got some pink eye and a bad cough. He is trying to hang in there so he can graduate on time. He said it has been a real rough couple of weeks!
