OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

How to change your Username, URL (web address) and Profile Picture

How to change your username on here.

Go to "Settings" which is in the list in the far right hand column of this page...under where you sign out of N4M's.

Your profile page will open.

Under "Profile" …Username is the third item down.

Clear the info and type in your new username.

Once you do that make sure to click "Save" at the bottom right of the page.

Your original username will remain in your URL/Web address  though.

To change that to match (this isn’t a problem on here but if you have already given it out as a link off  of the site… it won’t “work” anymore out  there.)

It is most likely in your URL…web address…as well, as it autofills with your original username.

 How to change your URL:

See in the address bar at the top of the screen at the end of the "http" when you pull your page up that your name is at the end of the address?

Go to "Settings" which is in the list in the far right hand column of this page...under where you sign out of N4M's.

Once your profile page comes up go to the left and you will see a list of options.

Click "My Page". The third item down is "Address”.

In the box clear the info and type in whatever you want to be at the end of your URL. Your new username is the best idea.

Again click "Save".

Let me know if you need help!

How to change/Add your Profile picture

First you have to have the picture you want to use downloaded onto your computer.

Next go to “Settings”.  “Settings” is in the right hand column underneath where you sign out of Navy 4 Moms.

That will open up to “My Settings” page. Profile will be the page you are on.

Click “Browse”.

It should open up into your “Pictures” Library. If not,  then click Pictures to open it.

Click on the picture you want to upload, it should load it to the “File” box .

Click “Open”. It will upload it to a box and ask you to select the “visible region of your photo”.  Adjust it how you like it and then click “Save”. It will then save the picture to the small box.

Now you have to save the changes you have made. Scroll down to the far right of the Profile page and click “Save”.

Then you’ll get a message saying that “You have successfully saved your changes…go to “My Page”.
