for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hunter: Just to advise you that she may need to return to her ship right after PIR to check out before Liberty....so you will give her hugs and visit with her for about 10 min after PIR ends (they kick all out of the PIR Hall after that)....and then you may need to wait a little while for her. But then she is yours for the day until about 8 pm! Remember to get her back in plenty of time to walk back to her ship....she cannot be late! For those wondering, no one is allowed back to see the ships. There will be sailors standing guard to stop you from going too far.
Also a reminder to all....no outside piks are allowed to be taken on RTC. Only allowed inside PIR Hall. Don't forget this as it is heavily enforced! They will take your phone/camera and delete the piks.
Safe travel to all today....enjoy the MeetandGreet tonight, be early for PIR tomorrow.
Driving hint for those driving to PIR:
Stay to the left on Buckley....car line to RTC on your right. Bypass RTC and turn around right past there in the train parking lot...head back to RTC from the opposite direction....easy left turn onto RTC, no wait! There is no waiting in the car line if you take a shuttle from your hotel either. Sign up for that at Sarge's MeetandGreet or at your hotel front desk when you check in.
Good Morning!
Hunter,
If your wife will be going to California for A school, seems she will probably fly out sometime on Saturday. You will need to meet her at either O'Hare or Midway at about 2:00 am to give her the cell phone, cell phone charger, laptop, a/c adapter, own comfy underwear (including the bras), maybe some favorite snacks.... She probably can't tell you which airport she will be flying out of till PIR since the Navy doesn't book the flight till Battlestations is passed. Bring a set of comfortable clothes for her to relax in the hotel room with you~~
If she's flying out to A school, she can just leave with you right when PIR ends at 10:30 am. You go down the bleachers and just get to her! (Please be careful about PDA and follow her lead...)
....her orders will not change because of this, Hunter.
Hunter: Liberty time is the same for her as for others. If flying out, she has the remainder of PIR Day...she would probably bus to the airport later that night to fly out on Sat....you can meet her at the airport. If staying in GL for A School, she will move over there shortly after PIR (takes a few hours) and you pick her up there. Then daytime Liberty through the weekend, back on base each night.
Sounds like you will have a sailor on Fri morning! Congrats!
