~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Diannep, I know 301/302 and 946 went through BattleStations Monday night.  303/304 and I'm not sure which other group did theirs last night. Obviously there is nothing normal about our group! :)

Thank you so much for all of the information and help, Admins!  So happy to have a sailor that I will see Friday!!  301 did great and I'm so proud of all of our new sailors.

Comment by diannep on September 23, 2014 at 3:42pm

Well, I'm glad he is a sailor!  Prayers that all will work out for him and he won't have a problem with his future running requirements.

Comment by Cc1058 on September 23, 2014 at 2:58pm
He made it thru BS but really concerned about the running coming up...fingers crossed! The leader of the exercise had just announced "do not cut anyone off" then boom!
Comment by diannep on September 23, 2014 at 2:10pm

Oh boy, Cc:  I hope all is ok and he will be just fine!

Thank you diannep 1..that is great to know...getting so excited..though our son is a bit upset because he is sick and was injured last Wednesday just before BS...he was cut-off on a indoor track exercise and injured his ankle..he is praying it does not set him back for A school...

For those staying at Navy Lodge, someone who stayed there last week said it was great.  Also, they now have their own shuttle, and it is only $2/pp roundtrip!  This is a savings over the other shuttles that are $3/pp each way.  Sarge normally services Navy Lodge with his shuttles, and may still help out there....not sure since Navy Lodge's shuttle is so new.  But it is nice to know that they have one!
