For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 04 (USS Arleigh Burke) Divisions 819 & 820 (brother divisions)
Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 819 & 820. It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.
Please be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in one of these divisions. Although they are still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other division are doing. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

Also pack something warm, It will only be in the 40's when you are standing in line to get inside. It will warm up by the time you go back and pick up your sailors. Remember to be early when dropping off, they have to be in their bldg which they have to walk to from the gate. One person late can ruin liberty for all of them.
If you do not rent a car and plan on using the train, keep in mind that there can be delays. Trains fill up fast leaving you waiting for the next one. If you plan on driving into the city, we hit a lot of traffic.
Leave a little time for your sailor to make phone calls, he will not be permitted to walk and talk in public. Don't be surprised if he seems a little different and has a hard time relaxing at first, that will pass.
Take notice of how fast he eats. Don't be surprised if total strangers approach him to thank him for his service. I have even heard that some have had their tab picked up when out to eat.
As each division walks through the doors and are announced the crowd cheers, but as the 800 division is announced the cheers are deafening. I cant even explain how proud I was at that moment. Enjoy this weekend, but be prepared for goodbyes once again. These will also get easier eventually, just think the holidays are close and you will see him soon. Besides he will now only be a phone call away. Those prescious letters will be tucked away. Care pkgs will begin to replace them.
Have a safe trip and I will see you in your new group as Class 2nine9 starts its new journey.

Congratulations to all of your new Sailors. Enjoy your time in GL, there is nothing like seeing your son's in their uniform for the first time.
