Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 819 & 820. It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.
Please be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in one of these divisions. Although they are still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other division are doing. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

JC, yes you can take pics. The 800 division enters last so you have plenty of time.
They take a professional pic of your son. The pkg I have includes a 8x10, 2 5x7's and some wallets. Not sure if your guys will be wearing whites or blues in their pics, but PIR should be dress blues. We were able to buy the pics at PIR, but I have heard from the past few divisions they needed to be paid for ahead of time. If your recruits have not mentioned it in letters, I would ask him about it.
Our's had to be paid for before we got there & our SR gave us the package he picked out when we saw him after graduation. Good to discuss it in letters.
Hello Everyone, Looks like PIR is just around the corner. !!! Im one of the Vet moms around in the spec ops group. I'll be around if you guys have any questions. There is so much going on, just breathe and enjoy the journey ahead !
As your sons progress in their training please keep in mind OPSEC RULES.... There is no time like the present to practice them!
God Bless
Jaimers
2 more weeks until you will be hugging your new sailor.
For those of you moving on to PreBuds, please make sure your page settings are set to private. If you do not know how, someone will gladly help. Also if your son is in your profile now is a good time to change it. I am in the process of getting your own class group started for after PIR, this group will become your alumni. Take advantage of the meet and greet if you can to get to know the others who will be on this long journey with you. Use private messages to discuss dates, times, and places.
If anyone has any questions, there are a number of veteran moms that will gladly help. Hooyah
Still no call from our SR - BUT we did get our questionnaire back yesterday!!! Good stuff! My favorite part: "actually singing cadences is kind of fun if it's the right one. But I did fall alseep while we were marching once."
He named several guys that he has made great friends with that will be going with him into PreBUDs - so I am very thankful for that!!!
We will be at Sarge's meet and greet - hope to meet and greet a lot of you there!!!
Can't believe it is less than 2 weeks now. Will be looking for folks at Sarge's meet and greet. Wonder what folks that aren't on N4M are doing to know what is going on. This has been a great resource for me. Hang in the hopsoncrew, you should be getting the "I'm as Sailor" call soon. That will be the best one! Glad you got a letter.
Oh, I didn't realize we get another call "Im a sailor now" Is that during the 7th week. We are certainly getting closer. JC
JC- My understanding is that after they complete Battlestations and switch their caps from "recruit" to "Navy" they get to call home to say they are a sailor. Somewhere on this site is a whole description of Battlestations. But basically what I read is that it can be anywhere between now and just before PIR. I suggest looking for that post. I visit so many different areas on here, I don't remember just which group I saw the Battlestations post. LindaD
