Hey Stephanie,
I just booked Navy Lodge today...we are staying Thur night and Friday night only...Kyle will be flying out to FL for his A school so from what I am reading he will not have as much leave time as them that stay in Great Lakes for A school.
We will have to try and stay in touch and meet at the Lodge....the one thing I found strange is they booked the room under Kyles name...wondering why????
Jo
When I called, they asked for my recruits name, but I think they booked it under my name. They took all my info anyway. I think that normally you can only stay there if you are military and since, in our case, we are not, they will allow us to due to having a son going through PIR.
we are staying at navy lodge as well!!!!
So my son is SHIP 13 DIV 13. We are from Pennsylvania. My son put 4 names on the list but his grandparents also want to come. Will they be able to get in? Starting making travel plans....looks like we will drive .
If they happen to be active or retired military, I believe they can use their military ID to get in. In my father's case, he was in the Army when he was younger, but did not retire Army so I believe that does not count, and he has to be on the list. Other people who are not on the list or do not have a military ID, may wait in the visitor area and if there is space after everyone that was on an access list goes in, then they will begin allowing others in until the seating is all taken.
Hello there. Looks like were all shipmate too. Glad to see this group with our son's Ship and Division. Anyone from Maryland ? There were 3 others that shipped off with my son and they thought they may be in the same division.
Ship 13 Division 313 also! Got my letter today and immediately logged on , to this site, as it is always a great feeling to find Mom's here. This is my second time around, within one year and I can't explain the numerous emotions that you will go through, as a Mom, but it's worth it in the end. Our guys/gals are in great hands and you will see such a change at PIR. If you have a Facebook account, there are several pages that are helpful as well , search for and like the "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command" page, as it is a big one! We got this :)
