N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lula:  Your son would not be in FIT now.  Let me explain:

During the week before PIR, they take their final PFAs (fitness test).  Each sailor must pass this, no matter what they did on the first two tests, in order to do BattleStations.  If they fail this 3rd test, they are put in FIT, a division that works with them on this, and they keep trying....every 48 hrs they test.  Most will get it passed before PIR, do BattleStations and be at PIR.  Some even have to do BattleStations the night before PIR, which means they will be in in uniform, but in the balcony after having been up all night---not able to march with their division.  There is a very small percentage of SRs who fail their final PFA, but most get it done by PIR.  For those who do not, they stay in FIT and keep trying...they get 10-12 more chances, again testing every 48 hrs.  Once they pass, they do BattleStations, may have a short Liberty and go straight to A School....no PIR then.   If someone doesn't pass, they are then discharged....but I don't think that happens to many.

Lula:  If your SRs are put in FIT because they didn't pass their final PFA (fitness test) and don't pass the test before their PIR, , you are correct....no other PIR once they miss their own.

However, if they are setback earlier in Bootcamp for another reason...they will be assigned another PIR date.

Flydogmom:  947 should be in Training Week 4/Day 2 mostly likely....Hell Week for them.  Lots of inspections, up early, busy time, but they get through it!

Flydogmom:  Here is the link to show what they do in Bootcamp by Training Week/Day....so you need to know what Training Week they are on.

SR Calebs mom i am praying for his health and for all of our SRs to get thru the remainder of bc. I feel nervous since i have read on Facebook that SRs were sent home for various reasons. Although my son has not indicated anything of that manner i i still worry.

My son did confirm that they are in hell week. He will have some test this week on Thursday he asked for prayer for. Also he was a bit congested, and requested prayer for his health. He was not on meds, but didn't want it to get worse, for sure.

When I had to change my flights for my PIR tickets, the new price was actually lower....so it can work in your favor!  But yes, Lula is correct that although there is never a fee, there could be an increase (or decrease) in fare!
