N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

hey Monica, my son left on August 5th as well. When the FB first posted the days last week, and again today, I was kind of freaking about the day he was on and how he was going to graduate on time. But they all still stay on the same track with the 10.2.15 PIR date. I dont know specifically what they do during p-hold but my son said they did alot of standing and waiting during his p-days

Jillibug5, in order for these groups to get the best security, as far as FB is concerned, all these Navy groups and PIR groups are closed groups and most people wont be able to find them doing a search. It has to be linked in and then you have to ask to join. they are very serious about their security. At least I think so. :)

I wonder how long my son was in p hold. Seems like a while if He got there August 5 and is only on week 1 day 5. Anyone know what they do during p hold?
Comment by Jillibug5 on August 24, 2015 at 2:43pm

Michelle my daughters been there since 10 August, how could she only be on week 1?  How is that possible?

Comment by Michelle0120 on August 24, 2015 at 2:37pm

One more thing to note, these PIR groups are not associated specificily with the RTC. They are private groups associated with Navy for Moms, and others. They still give correct information but you wouldnt find the actual FB group out of the RTC site.

here is the link to the FB page for our PIR. Alot of people had the same questions. The PIR will stay the same no matter what it looks like. The training days and weeks do not start until after P-holds and P-days. I was confused as well. Lemonelephant help me with it as well, but this FB page has alot of answers in regards to this.
