N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Can anyone tell me what is Ship 04 Div 330 is?

Comment by AngieL on August 14, 2015 at 11:48am

Hello all!  My son left for BC on 8/11.  I haven't gotten the letter yet, but I did get info from the recruiter.  My son is Ship 13 Div 335, PIR 10/02.  I also got a call today from a LT in medical (she wanted to talk about an allergy) that confirmed this PIR date.

Comment by diannep on August 14, 2015 at 11:39am

What ship/division did he list, reddsmom?

Comment by diannep on August 14, 2015 at 11:39am

Rocky Road.  It would be unusual for this to be an all female division....although it has happened before, it is very very rare, so thinking that it is an integrated division with males/females.  Maybe the moms of the males are just not on here, except you?  But I bet they will find this group so keep watching!

Any other male SR's on Ship 12 Div 327?

Thought maybe this was a mixed div but I only moms of females posting .....

No letter to confirm but wondering if the recruiter gave me wrong info
Comment by reddsmom97 on August 14, 2015 at 8:49am

It has the ship/division & address, I didn't see a date on the letter.  I could've overlooked it.....I was so excited to see her handwriting.

Thank you for answering all my questions!!  This is very informative for me!!!

Also, reddsmom, never apologize on here for anything you ask!  We are here to help!

Comment by diannep on August 14, 2015 at 8:44am

reddsmom:  She didn't fill in the PIR date in the form letter?  And the ship/diivision numbers/address?

Comment by diannep on August 14, 2015 at 8:42am

The only letter you will receive is the form letter, that your SR fills in.  Is that what you received?  If so, then, no, you will not get another official letter, but will get personal letters soon from your SR (hopefully!).  If you have any questions, please ask them here!

Comment by reddsmom97 on August 14, 2015 at 8:21am

I got the letter that tells the "Do's & Don'ts" for PIR, it also listed who she will have attending the PIR.  It does not have a date on it.  Will I be getting another letter?

I apologize if my questions seem redundant.....this is all so very new to me.
