Frustrated

I am so thankful to be able to find someone to talk to that understands what it is we are all going through.  We received a call early on from our son because he needed some back ground information on some family members for his security clearance.  I was able to speak to him for almost 20 mins, because I was did not have all the info when he called and they told him to stay on the phione til I got home to get it.  Under normal situations that sounds like a good thing, however he just kept telling me how he wants to come home, and sometimes I could hardly hear what he was saying.  He told me that he now has to wear glasses, which he has never had to in the past and his eyes have been check several times.  He also had to get his wisdom teeth removed though he said they were not bothering him. I have read the other posts and have simalar questions.  Why would thay do that right now?  We have received two letters both say he is fine but both were very short, so I figure he is just to tired to say anything else. 

Now this past Friday my husband received a call from a petty officer telling him our son had some kind of outburst during a training exercise (which is sooo unlike him) and that he was going to be disciplined.  They put our son on the phone, again he was hardly understandable, to explain to his dad what had happened.  My husband was in mid sentence when my son said they want to talk to you again.  The PO got back on the phone said they would call us back to let us know the outcome but never called!!  We have been worried all weekend as to what happened to him.  I don't really understand why they called to tell us that.   Yes I want to know what is going on with him but if you aren't going to let us talk to him about it then what good did it do for them to call us?  Have any of you had anything like this happen?

We were so proud of him when he told us that he was joining the Navy.  I know it would be hard for all of us but after hearing from him Im not sure he is going to be able to make it.  I hope I'm wrong!

The glasses are a temp thing. He only has to wear them during BC. My dentist was in the Navy, as a dentist, and he told us they remove the wisdom teeth so you don't have a problem with them later when you might not be able to get dental care. BC is a shock no matter how well prepared you think you are. Emotions run high. Hopefully you get some answers. Good luck. Hope all is well!

Thanks so much for the supportive responses.
I did talk to his recruiter and he told me that his discipline could be either an extra hard work out or holding him back 2 weeks. He said he hasn't heard anything about him so he figures it couldn't have been too bad, but then went on to say they will probably call us back on Monday. I know they have a lot of people there to deal with but you would think they would understand what it is like for us to sit here worrying.
I guess its just the way the phone calls have been that really upset me. Seeing they had him call home to tell us what happened it seems they would have a least let my husband talk to him for a minute or two.
I keep filling our letters with words of encouragement but on this end we fell completely helpless.
I do keep telling myself that "no news is good news" but sometimes I'm not listening!

Well they still haven't called us. So we are going on the "no news is good news" motto. I did talk to one of the recruit officers today who checked his graduation date and he said it hasn't changed. So we will keep our fingers (and toes) crossed that nothing else happens.
