Hi Ladies and Gents (too) !

Just moving this discussion over from the Leaving from Boot Camp in August Page since it makes more sense to have it hear now!

Please join so we can all stay together and support each other through this!  Has anyone in this group received a letter or phone call yet?

I'm still waiting on that letter. Being in Florida might be making the difference right now. but I'm trying to be patient-not doing a very good job :)

proudtobehismom ~ my son is in the same division! No letter yet but hoping to have some mail this coming week. I do hope they are getting our mail!
MaribethP-

Although, I'm sorry that you have not heard from him, I'm relieved too. Maybe for some reason their division was not able to write. It seems like the other divisions from the 10/08 group have gotten letters. I do hope that they are at least getting ours. I think they might need our letters even more than we need ours!

Hope that you are doing well, I'll post when I get or hear something. I look forward to meeting you!
Hi again! Nope, no mail here either. So, now I wonder if it is a division thing - I hope there aren't issues. I tend to over think things and try to read between the lines even though I know that is not a smart thing to do! I'm ok with no letter yet, especially as busy as they are and as much stuff as they have to do. I will get more info from him in a phone call anyway. I'm in MN so should get something a day or two after it's mailed.
kellig - I'm the same way, I keep thinking that maybe the division is being punished for something. The worrywart that I am, and it would be my luck that their RDC was one of the ones who didn't believe in a lot of contact to home. But, I'll go with the "no news is good news" for right now, and anxiously await that precious phone call!

Thanks for the update. Stay in touch!
I was re-reading the form letter that I got along with his little note at the bottom. He did make the comment "I have been here since Wednesday but sill in P-days but start real training soon." He also made the comment that "my division is up and down." So I am hoping that maybe they had to wait on a few more items or information from some recruits and hadn't actually got started for a few days later which may be delaying the mail and writing. Somewhere I read that everyone had to be through medical and all that stuff before they can stary. I am hoping and praying that he is at least getting our mail. I feel like I am going to be glued to my home this week as I am praying for a phone call. I know these are never guaranteed but I can still hope. I work from my home which is a good thing for me as I have hunted that mailman down every day! I think I will give him a break tomorrow and Tuesday and start up again on Wednesday!! I didn't plan anything for this coming week in the evenings just hoping...........

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Sunday and I know my thoughts and prayers will be with all of them today as hopefully this will be a rest day for them!!
Maribeth-

What day did your SR arrive at GL? Mine got there late on Thursday, August 12th. Sounds like maybe you are right about the division issue, let just hope that's what it is!

I really hope they are getting our letters, and the way it looks we may get that phone before we get a letter! When he got there and called, he said it would be 3 weeks before the next call and this coming Thursday marks that day!

Enjoy the Sunday, I have thinking all morning of Division 333 and have been praying that they are coming together strong as a team and getting some down time today. Another FULL week ahead of them!
proudtobehismom - my son got there late on the 12th as well. I too have been praying extra for our division, hoping that if they did have a rocky start that things are coming together. I know our kids are strong and they can do this!

I can't believe that there aren't more in our division on here.

Where are your kids going to A school? Mine is headed to Biloxi.
I haven't received a call or letter other than my quick call when he got there. Div 333. I did get his form letter, and in his comments, he said that he got his uniform on the Monday following when he got there, and Tuesday they were supposed to get shots then start PT. I really hope they are all getting our letters! I am hoping that TODAY is the day he can write to me. Please keep us all posted when someone gets a letter or call! I was told he could call again in three weeks as well.
Kellig- mine will be staying in GL for A school, but that could change while in BC, because he went in with an undesignated contract and was hoping to re-class during this process! (fingers crossed)!
My son arrived on Wednesday, August 11th. I am hoping we get our letters and maybe a phone call this week. I am going through major withdrawal. I know hey say "no news is good news" but it still would be nice to hear his voice if only for a minute!!

My son will be headed to Groton,Connecticut for sub school.
Hi there, my son is in this div also, no letter, I did get to hear his voice for about 30 seconds, he was looking for addresses for security clearance. I did get to ask if he was good, and he said yes I gotta go mom bye. Hopefully we all get to hear from them real soon.
Hi mrspierced, welcome to this group! So glad you at least got to talk to your son for a short time. I'm optimistic we will hear something this week!
