Just got my recruits address and found out he is in Ship 6 DIV 947.  Anyone else have a loved one in this division?

U. S. Navy Recruit Training Command

We all have those days, some days are better than others regarding how much of a grasp I have on all of this.
Yes indeed! You are absolutely not alone in this. Yesterday I found myself back to crying for no reason when I thought about him but today am on cloud 9, knowing that 2 weeks from tomorrow I should be flying out of here in preparation for seeing my "baby". Overwhelming, roller coaster. God is good.
Mail call today! Got a couple of letters from my son. He also wrote a letter to his recruiter, they seem to get along really well. I'll give ya details this evening when I have some time. I'll be back in a couple of hours!
I got a couple of letters today also. Thank goodness. I don't know if I would have made it without one today. Much more upbeat this letter. Things sound good. she passed her test and is officially an E-2 now. Did 82 situps and 63 pushups. Ran her run in 10:09. Good for her. I feel so much better just reading the letters. I think I will be able to make it the last 2 weeks now. Here's to all our recruits and praying they all do well in their final stages of BC. God bless.
Fantastic! So thankful for upbeat letters. Congrats on passing the test and the E-2 status!

My son seems to be doing very well. When we read the letters, we looked at each other oddly. We were both thinking he sounds REALLY happy. The odd thing was, we didn't think you were suppose to be happy in boot camp! lol.

Sounds like he did well on marksmanship. Said he has earned 2 ribbons and is an E-2 as well. He did say that time is really flying now and it seems as if graduation is just around the corner. My impression was that they feel like they are in the home stretch.

More comments are how great the RDC's are and that it's clear they have the best ones - because the other RDC's come and ask them questions. I don't know if he's really partial to our RDC's or what...he seems to really like them. This sort of goes along with his relationship with his recruiter. He sent a letter to him as well, they get along very well and my son appreciated everything he did for him.

My son did complain a bit about not feeling well, but that everyone has that issue. He was surprised at how sick they are all getting.

He must not be feeling too bad... The last couple of paragraphs of one letter was about buying an iphone and a new mac that he can run with both mac and windows systems. (something we talked about before he left) He is ready for his own undies, a phone, computer, and some sleep!

That's my update! 2 weeks from know I'll be packing the vehicle to head towards Chicago! Don't forget to keep an eye out for the graduation pics for the next 2 weeks, maybe we will spot one of our recruits as they perform.
My daughter also commented on the amount of people sick. Probably because they are so tired. It really was great to get the upbeat letters. Congrats. I think she also likes her RDC's. She did say she was looking foward to battlestations. Can't wait to get that phone call. She did also say they would be performing this weekend for graduation. Said they practiced their marching for 5 hours the other day. Hopefully we will get lucky and be able to pick out our recruits.
I am so gonna be at the computer ready to investigate every single pic of PIR 9/24!

It's gonna be a like a really rewarding version of "where's waldo"! lol

I'm gonna call it "where's my boy!"
Do you mind posting the links when the pics are found?
You can count on me to be searching them all out tomorrow and will post either the pics or the links right here!

I have made friends with a few of the Mom's in the 9/24 group and have asked that if they get pics of the recruits carrying state flags, etc would they please post ASAP! They seem to be glad to try to help us catch a glimpse of them.

Also, the RTC page on facebook will have them posted very soon after the graduation concludes.
I can't wait to see these pics. Will be looking for Utah flag, and your master at arms
I can't wait either. My daughter is carrying the Delaware flag. Everyone keep their eyes open..... Goodluck and hope everyone gets a look at their recruit :)
I was surprised at the great attitudes of most of the recruits, thought this was hell week and didn't expect to hear from my son. Most of these recruits must be feeling that great pride.
