Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Heidic4: Try to go on the no news is good news theme Hope his appt went well and he is back to training. Believe it or not, many times SRs are hospitalized for something and families may not even know until after the fact, when they are back to training.

Everyone in Ship 14 Div 318. Tomorrow is Trivia Tuesday on the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Facebook Page. Lets try to win for our Division 318. Prize is a picture of our Division and we get to see out SR. Go Div 318!!!

Still no call...hoping for a letter this week.
LoriM-I am booked at the courtyard chicago Waukegan gurnee. It had a 97% approval rate thru expedia and is only 3.9 miles away.
Made PIR ribbons today....trying to keep busy lol

My son got his first call on Saturday, 8-23!! Only lasted 7 minutes but was great to hear from him!! And he said everything sucks!!! I know it will get better.

Yesterday 8/24 was the first day our Srs were allowed to write. SO if they wrote their letters would go out today. Hopefully we will start receiving them on either Wednesday or Thursday depending on where you are. I sure hope my SR writes. Before he left he would laugh and say I am not writing to you Mom...Told his recruiter he would write to her,then turned to me and said not you...Love that kid.
I have booked our room at the Navy Lodge for Thursday thru Sunday. We will be driving from PA. Cannot wait for Sarge's Meet and Greet on Thursday evening.

I remember very well going through bootcamp each and every day when the mail person would gather us all at the end of each day. It felt empty when you were one of the few that didn't get a letter. You walked back down the squad bay empty handed. Send a post card, send a printed photo, send a quick letter...just send often. They need it.
