I called the recruiter today. I just couldn't stand it, I had to get some answers to all my questions! He was very nice, and told me not to worry. He told me BS21 should happen late in week 6 or in week 7. He says they let them go to bed, whatever the normal time is, then when everyone is starting to fall asleep, they come in yelling for them to get up. Then they spend all night at battle stations. He says it's not as bad as it sounds, and you are so busy that you don't realize you have had no sleep. Afterwards they have their cap ceremony where they trade in their recruit cap for a Navy cap, because now they are sailors! He also said once you get the letter, or invitation, despite what they are told, it's pretty much a sure thing they will graduate on time. Unless some very bad behavior, or a bad accident, broken bone or something. Oh and about the sickness, the recruiter said they all get a shot of penicillin, and it makes most people feel sick for about a week. He also said that was normal, and not to worry. I am so jealous of all you that got letters today! Maybe I will get one tomorrow, something to look forward to :)
great info!! i can't wait. it's winding down to 2 weeks now guys!! yikes :)
I actually did get a letter yesterday! My husband usually gets the mail, and I thought he had. I never even asked, then when I put a letter in the mail today, there was yesterdays mail with a letter! I was really nice, even a little bit of humor. He is feeling much better, but I guess there are still a few who have issues, and as my son put it "won't pull there heads out.." I guess they have threatened to set them back a week if they don't get it together. From what I understand an individual could get set back, but not the entire division. I am sure they just want to keep them on their toes. Oh he also mentioned at this point he is really missing my cooking :)
oh no so wait is it possible for the whole division to be set back because my job is assuming it's october 1st for me i need time off oh no?!!! i hope we know soon!!
The recruiter told me they would NOT set a whole division back. I guess they just let the whole division think that, perphaps to keep them in line..
I wonder if our div is as bad as they think or if everyone is made to feel that way.
I think they are probably just trying to keep them on their toes and "in line". My husband is ex-Army and it was the same for him and his division when he was in bootcamp. They couldn't be doing that bad, remember...they won an academic flag! And, I think alot of them have passed their PFA, PI, and WTI already. Besides, I don't know about your boys, but if mine can get sympathy from Mom, their gonna try. :-) Don't let it get you down. Tomorrow is 2 weeks!!!! Oh yeah!
i'm getting worried, i haven't gotten one single letter this week or anything... i hope everything is okay :(
Do yall know what week/day they are on? 946 just got done with Hell Week and they didn't get calls or letters out during that week. But it seems like we all got a flood of letters after Hell Week. I know the divs are staggering on what day they are on. No news is good news!
yea i got like tons of letters the week after. believe they are on the end of their 5th week now! hard to believe.
I got another letter today. My son sounds much better, he even said things were pretty good. I think you're right Bonnie, the division is probably a pretty good group, but don't want to let them know that, not yet anyway.
well thats good news to hear!! im hoping for a letter soon! they must be busy!
