Navy Lodge
We already went to our son's PIR, but I heard that the Navy Lodge is really nice. We stayed at the Ramada Inn and it was ok. They treated us really well. We paid $79 a night for a room with 2 queen size beds and a bathroom.

What is the price of the Navy Lodge??
$65 per night. I am not sure about all of the accomodations, their website is just general. But I know they do have a shuttle to PIR.
Diffidently take the shuttle to PIR. Our shuttle bus was too full so we had to take a cab. It cost $15 dollars.

We didn't want to drive there with our rental car in case we got lost and missed PIR, LOL
Yeah, I really want to take the shuttle but I am debating bc I have two little ones still in car seats.
Have you rented a car.

I would ask the Hotel if they have child's safety seats on the shuttle.

I did see people at the airport bring their own child's safety seats with them. I saw some check them in with their suitcases.

The Captain is "God" over the command. That is in the military court that gives out the courts martial. It consists of the Captain, with Petty Officers and Chiefs.
Both in-laws are renting cars, so I will just hitch a ride with them, but we were all considering the shuttle for PIR. From what I understand the child seats don't count as carry-ons so I think I will bring our own. I have a list going for questions for the airline as the date approaches.
Hi Everyone,
I have been reading all the discussions about making reservations for PIR & I got really nervous last night so I called the Residence Inn in Waukegan because I liked the idea of a kitchen & sofa bed. I was able to book a 1 bedroom suite for $105 a night but they only have 1 or 2 rooms left availabe at Navy discount price. They do have a shuttle to the base & it is $6 per person round trip. I am so glad I found this site it really made a difference in making my reservations.
You'll LOVE it. Residence Inn was great. Free hot breakfast in the lobby too! Make sure to sign up for the shuttle when you check in. The first one was at 6:30 and we were on it. Wouldn't have done it any other way...in our PIR seats by 7!
JBsMom - that's where I am staying as well. i had forgotten to ask about shuttle prices. Thanks for the info. My son is ship13 div329. see you there.
Page 8 of PIR 9/17 site says no shuttle from Navy Lodge. Mamabeth on there called then and they said no??? Maybe someone else should call to make sure she was given the right info?
