DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 333 & 334. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I completely understand. My SR is the first to leave the nest. I have 4 boys and 1 girl. It helps pass the time reading what everyone else has to say an keeps you connected. :-)

For all Facebook Users, if you search for "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command", there is a FB page dedicated to current bootcamp recruits.     Check it out, and hit LIKE to stay updated.   I looked thru photos posted, but did not see my Son SR Jensen. It looks like other people have found and tagged their son names here and there.   Enjoy!

Thanks -love the facebook page!!!

I am new to this group, having a son in Ship 14, Div 334. We are traveling from SoCal to the PIR several days before the ceremony to stay in Waukegan at a hotel that has a shuttle to PIR.  From reading the posts here and on the BC forum, I see others are experiencing slow "snail mail" as we are. There must a cause so I wonder if they are only allowed to mail letters once a week. I forgot to ask that question when my son first called two weeks ago.

Yes, it had been once a week up until now. They have all been mailed on Mon. or Tues. I would usually get them Thurs or Fri. I received one on Monday this week. I am in WA.

Welcome Joan!!

Hi Joan! My son is also in your son's division. I am also from So. Calif, in fact Garden Grove. We're staying at the Ramada

HI Joan - my son is in the same ship/division as yours - we are in NorCal - can't wait to get to PIR!!

Us too.... DIV 334, 2 weeks ago phone call and 2 letters a week ago.  Sure miss him. Driving from KY!!!  We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  SO EXCITED!!!

Justin's girl called to share her letter with me! I was so excited, plus I think my son tells her different things. It arrived today but was dated 9/5/12- that's slow. He just wants to go to Disneyland!! and sleep!

We recieved a letter Monday & our son has said he's trying to get reclassified & if he does that means his "A" school would be in San Antonio.I hope we know before PIR because we made reservations until Monday because his "A" school is suppose to be in Great Lakes.  I'm happy he wants to change his classification because San Antonio is only 4 hours from home!

What is your son's classification? and why would he want to change it??
