Wade, thank you for your update. I am so glad everything went well. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Let us know about the PET scan.

Marty, I too have been off for a while, but not for the same reason.I'm glad to hear you are back. I'm with Johanna. If I lived near by, I would have helped her!
Laurence has finally made it to his duty station. He is in New Orleans. He has been assigned to the PT dept. at the Naval hospital. He says it is "OK". He says he wants to go to where the action is! I'm happy with him in New Orleans!!!!

Good morning ladies! Thanks Tina, my son's on the Phillipine Sea. I'm definitely not expecting anything to happen, it's just good to know moms close by when the kid may need one(I know he's growing up, but still deny that some times!).

Johanna, thanks for your note, and please don't worry. The Tiger Cruise sounds awesome! We had one really funny thing come up when our sailor was on leave. Before he left for BC we would joke about him joining the Navy to get out of yard work (not much need for a lawn mower on a ship, right?) Well, we found out that the sub school does lots of community service and he would regularly be part of crews working at the local parks. So, even joining the Navy didn't get him out of yard work. It was good for a laugh!

Hi Ladies! I can't believe it's been almost a year since our sailors were leaving for BC. My son's been in CT at sub school until June when he decided he'd had enough of a medical hold and switched to surface. He took 10 days of leave for a visit home and just yesterday reported at Mayport, FL. As usual, I'm using this website to learn about his base, his ship, etc... You know, get the details I can't get from him!

I can't wait to hear about your Tiger Cruise, Johanna. Sounds fantastic! Wade, I'll be saying prayers for you for a successful procedure and speedy recovery. Congrats on your new sailor (Am I remembering right that she was with you at the M&G before PIR?) Tina, I'm remembering you're in FL and hope I could recruit your help as an "emergency" mom, if needed? Or, at least for some travel advice. I hear the Navy Lodge is actually on the beach and that sounds like a great vacation spot to me!

Take care everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful summer!

Johanna, I agree.. This has been one STRANGE year! Come August, we will have been together for one year! WOW our babies are all grown up now! When I look back at Laurence's graduation pictures from last May or the ones from MEPS, and the ones now, he doesn't look like the same person!
Well, Fair Winds and Following Seas as we sail into the next year together!

I feel so sorry for Laurence. He heads to New Orleans on the 20th of this month. He loves shrimp and was looking forward to eating all the shrimp he wanted. Now, BP has changed that for him!
I hope it can be cleaned up soon! I feel so sorry for all the fishermen!

Seeing the price to smoke makes me glad that it is one habit I never started!

Wade, good luck with quitting! When my sister quit, she found she had more extra change to spend on other things!
I'll continue to keep you in my prayers!

Wade, I understand about the weather. I had to go back to Great Lakes in Jan.! I am Texas born and bread, and in my young 50 years, that was the first time I had ever driven in snow! Both of my boys are so glad to be out of the snow and in sunny southern California!
Also, Wade, keep us informed about your appointment. I will keep you in my prayers.
