Wade, I am sorry to hear about your Dr.'s report. ((((HUGS))))You will be in my prayers.
When my second son was in BC, I thought like you.Since he was in GL and I was still in my same house, I would get letters on the same day of teh week, but no. I would get them on all days. The second time, the days I got letters were not consistent.

Wade, what a wonderful surprise! I am glad to hear all is going well for your recruit!

Wade, I agree, it is easier the second time, but still hard on the nerves. Easy in that you know what to expect, yet on the other hand, you know more about what is going on, and worry more! My boys went with the younger going first and my older going second. I think having the older one second, I didn't worry about him as much.
I am glad that you can schedule your surgery and PIR without complications!

Wade, Happy Birthday! I'm glad you were able to spend it with your family. I love the picture you posted.

Wade142, I will keep you in my prayers! I can only imagine not wanting to upset the kids! That sounds like a true mother, always there for her kids and not wanting to upset them.
I know your daughter will do well, and her calls will be a great help for you.
Please keep us informed with all you other tests, and remember, we are here for you!

I'm starting to rethink the driving to San Diego. I think I will start looking into cheep flights. After the two trips to GL, I have become a pro at all the online travel sites. lol
Wade142, has your daughter left for BC yet? Keep us informed.

I drove to LA one summer. It took over 10 hours just to get out of Texas! If I drove, it will be cheaper than flying. Besides, what else do I have to do? One of the many reason why I love teaching: Summer Vacation! I'm home on Spring Break now.
If I do drive, I will take my daughter. I would feel bad if I let her with her dad while I drove to see her brothers. Now I need to find out if they have a graduation from FMTB. That would be a wonderful excuse to go!

Thanks. Tina. Laurence is at Camp Pendleton and my other sailor is home on leave before he reports to the Navy base in San Diego. He has been assigned to the USS Bonhomme Richard. I find it interesting since Richard is his first name. I haven't looked at a map, but I have found the joys of GPS!
I think more than anything else, I just needed a good excuse to drive half way across the country! lol

Thanks for all the advice about San Diego. I just need to make sure I get there before Laurence leaves Camp Pendleton. His permanent duty station will be in New Orleans, but my other son is in San Diego on the Navy Base. So that way I can see two sons for the price of one!
