Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 347 and 348

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good evening everyone! guysmom I'm from South east pa. My son is also in division 347.  He will be staying at Great Lakes for GM school.

I think my son knows yours. Have you been to the Kinzua bridge? Because this boy knew where it was at. Near our home.

Where do you live in pa?

My son is 347. We are from OR.

My son is in div 348 we are from OR as well. I got a letter from him yesterday and he sounds miserable. He misses being able to go outside whenever he wants, real butter and being able to talk to people. And he had his wisdom teeth out and got dry sockets so he is not feeling good anyway. I hope to be to talk to him this weekend and let him know we are going to be coming to graduation. Anyway enough about sad stuff. I really enjoy hearing from other people about the same things. It helps me feel like I'm not the only one and things will get better.

My son lucked out. Denist didn't feel it was was needed until after bootcamp as they were in good condition. But did say it's better to pull them for preventive measures.

My son is also missing real butter (must be an OR thing lol) and being out side...says he actually looks forward to window washing because he got to watch the sunset as a thunderstorm front move even in. (Which made him miss his camera.

He says the ventilation in the buildings is abismal. And that getting it right is impossible, even though he's passed everything and 100% on some test, he says no matter how good he does, its never good enough. (An ROC said good job to him for the first the other day...completely suprised him)
He's trying to not single himself out, but it feels like every ROC knows him on a last name Bases. And not because they like him. (from The kid every teacher in school and his employers all loved)
Anyway still, he seems better in this letter then his last, but not as good as his first.

I know what you mean. This last letter my son signed of with his first and last name instead of his usual love you mom. I hope he sounds better tomorrow if and when he calls. I hope that his division improves soon so he has something good to say..:)

Thanks for your replay are you going to the meet and greet Thursday before graduation? If so we should try to meet.

My son said the RDC's don't like his division for some reason! He said they only like a handful of the SR's. Sucks a lot knowing that. My son is division 347.

My son says the RDC punish people until they cry. Sounds miserable. He did say that he is trying focus and get some of those he is able talk with to focus on what his dad told him " that it is the RDCs job to tear them down and then build them up." Also that it gets better at A school. He also misses the outside so much. He loves the woods, hunting and the rural area we live in. He mentioned twice how many days he has been there  and how many he has left. They will make it with the support of their moms.  I look forward to the next phone call.

Benjies mom I hope they meet up. I just read the SR could have watch that day. That would be awfull going 10 hours and not getting to see him!  He probably will fly out Sat and we do plan to go the airport but still I would be so sad. I guess I will keep positive thoughts .

guysmom that's terrible  to go that far to see him and then you don't have time to spend with him. We at least have till Sunday night to spend with Benj. I can't wait till I see him I wish it was today. I hope the boys met! I know my son was home sick and said he wasn't making friends but I know that's not true because he makes friends real easy. When I write to him I'm going to ask him if he knows your son. Take care and talk to you soon. I'll say a prayer that you will be able to spend some time with your son before he ships out.

I don't know for sure they have watch. We got a letter today! It sure cheered me up. He said division 347 scored a average of 4.7 on their first exam the highest out of the 9 training groups. They earned their first flag. He sounds good but ready to be done. He misses PA and his woods. My son has been helping with yoeman duties so the others may know him. Guy is his middle name. He said they will be starting Marlin spike. Does anybody know what that is?
