Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 949

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I am so excited at the prospect of being able to catch a glimpse of our SRs on Oct. 4 & 11. I will be tuned in for sure. Feeling blessed he made this division

I was able to see mine today!  so happy!  Did you get to see your SR

Can't wait to see them perform in a couple weeks !

OMG. and I used to love Monday holidays. NOT ANYMORE!!!!  they just hold up the mail......I am so hoping to get my letter from him tomorrow. FINGERS CROSSED

Hello Moms! Just wanted to say that I am praying for all of our children, especially in Division 949! My son also exited to be a part of this division- can't wait to see them perform!

Hello Moms! Just wanted to say that I am praying for all of our children, especially in Division 949! My son als

My son is in div 949. U praying just because or is something wrong? Im a worry wart. Sorry if this question seems down trodden. Just missing my son. I pray for them everyday

You sound like me!  No, I am just praying because we are all in this together- and it helps to communicate with other Mom's who have children in the same unique circumstances, especially the same division!  I have not heard anything "bad" , and my son's wife is so emotional she would call me crying_ I had to reassure him it was ok when bis box came home- she was upset because it had his deodorant in it!

The way my sons clothes stunk when i got them it became clear he forgot deodorant all together....lol. when you spoke to him last how did he say the division was doing? how old is your son? Would it be ok to send a friend request. Compare notes, alert the other to phone xalls mail arriving. Some of us have been doung that. Thank good too or i wouldve missed my sons call last week.

Yes, a friend request is fine- I am just getting used to this website- and just found this group a few days ago!  My son is 24.  (My oldest).  He indicated that his Division was "hard but special".  He indicated at least as of last week that the Division was doing fine.  I would appreciate the being able to compare notes- be alerted of anything good or bad :(  How old is your son?

Ok great. Scott is 18. He graduated high school in june turned 18 in july and left for boot camp in august. Its been a whirlwind. His call and letter both were a bit down. Hes homesick a bit. I hope its gotten better in the last week. Esp since they started getting mail. At least i hope the have.

I am thinking that there is a good mix of ages in that Division.  My son has never been away from family for longer than a week- but since he has been married (only a few months)- he has not lived at home so he has been able to have a "go at independence" at least for a while.  I don't know if his age is working for or against him at this point!  I do hope that the older recruits mentor and support the younger ones- but since he has a new wife I wonder if he is crying more!  I just have to stop thinking about it!
