Just called navy lodge and they do have a listing of shuttles that will pick up at navy lodge. evidently you have to set this up at check in. and we are staying there also.

Libby's mom-- YES bring a coat. not being usedto the cold and wind you will need it. I'm from Virginia and still gonna dress warm. :) as for har far the Navy lodge is from the base.. I don't think it is in walking distance. It's across the street to theside of the front gate but the base is HUGE and i'm a wimp so i'm not going to tackle the walking:) I figure we will be doing ALOT of walking anyway. I understand there is a shuttle from the Navy Lodge ( we are staying there too) best advice is to ask about at check in and i've heard make sure you getthe first shuttle out if there are more than one. Good luck.
I can'twait to met you guys and your children And I totally agree about keeping in touch. we really need to do that. I understand fromCourtney that Div 401 shipp11 has their last PFA test today (running, curlups, situps) and then the lovely gas chamber on tuesday, third written test on wed then battlestaions wed night. Pray hard for our children ladies. they need it. they are tired and fighting sickness and injuries and mental stress, but they all the tools and they can do it!!
Take care all and remember two weeks from today we will be WITH our Sailors!!!! Joined at the hip for most of us i'm sure!!:0

Peggy if you are renting a car, look into getting one with GPS it will help immensely. I know what you mean about anything to see your babygirl... i feel exactly the same way. and you will be fine, just take it slow and stay calm, and remember you can always turn around if you miss an exit or something like that. just give yourself plenty of time. and you may want to drive by the base thursday night just to make sure you know where it is. Good luck

Peggy i think you will be fine, yes it has gotten colder there, but snow.... not quite yet, the average high for that time of year is in the high 50's so unless there is a freak cold snap and a freak snow storm, i think you'll be ok.... Love the line about "know nuttin about" love it LOL.

Shirley---- Courtney knew about her grad and go status the first week there. I'm not sure how but it was in her first letter she wrote 5 days after getting to GL. I keep praying that somehow she was mistaken or her flight gets changed or SOMETHING... we have a room booked til Monday, just in case and I'm sure I will pack things for her just in case. :) she has said that is is crazy for us to drive over 20 hours round trip for one hour... what she doesn't realize is that we would do 40 hours for 5 minutes with her!!!
And I agree with the GREAT LAKES comment about it being formed by the tears of mothers before us!! :) As for telling your son to look for the crying mom... how could you do that to him... their will be hundreds of crying mom's he will be so confused:) !! and crying Dads for that matter, even the big macho ones can't hold back the tears at a time like this!!
Take care Ladies....... 15 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sharon battlestations will be next week!! For Courtney's Div (410 Ship 11) it is wed and thurs. not sure about others.
Robyn- they will ( should) get issued their Pea Coat, it is a VERY warm wool coat. if it would make you feel better tho, through his in the car, worse case scenario you have to bring it home.
Reading all about what you guys are taking for your sons/daughters to lounge in makes me jealous as Courtneyis a grad and go and we will just be able to see her a short while. But i AM happy for you!!! enjoy the time you get with them!!

ladies... i have found an encouraging way to look at things. Our babies have been gone 6 WEEKS!! We onlyhave 2 1/2 till we see them. sooooo it's a little better way to think of things. I am so excited i'm ready to get in my car and just start driving... NOW!! I have faith that these 2 weeks are going to fly by for all of us and for our recruits!! after battlestations next week for them it will be a breeze. just practicing for PIR and cleaning up and packing up to leave their "ship". Ladies we have made it this far ....Push on we can see the finish line now!!!

Joanna, i am glad to hear that Caleb is better but sorry to hear he is going to be set back a week... for him and for you. But what matters most is that he is getting healthier everyday, Thank Heaven! Please stop in from time to time just to update us on how he is. You belong to us first :)
Lorrie, so glad to hear things are ok with you, it takes a while to get back to yourself and to be able to function properly. but with a son in the Military I guess that pushes you forward. How is Den doing with everything? HAve you gotten a letter since he found out? Will be continuing to pray for our whole group here.

looks like we may be workiing things out so that we will be at meet and greet thursday. through friends and family we are getting little brothers care taken care, no thanks to their mother!! oh well
Everyone have a blessed weekend and take care
