Karan, week 6 is gas chamber week, so for my daughter that will be starting next thursday as that is 6-1 DOT for her div and yes my daughter's div (401 ship 11) is a week and half before grad for battlestations. Her Division will be doing it October 15/16. so we can start praying now for all of our recruits to make it thruwith flying colors and heal up and be strong for what lies ahead.

Michelle- AMEN I do know exactly what you are talking about and I too wonder about our worthiness of such an action but then I remember we don't even have to be worthy, we never could be, but He did it anyway!!! Just like our children protecting the rights of those in this country that don't appreciate it and I sometimes feel are unworthy of ( although it's not MY place to judge who is worthy or not) of the scarifice that our sons and daughter and their families give so freely and willingly!!!
Teresa- the letter you received from Jessica must have made you cry like a baby but yet feel so much pride !! It was overwhelming just to read about it. Our children have grown into such wonderful men and women!! This country needs more like them!!
I believe it should be mandatory for kids to serve atleast two years- then all the whining and complaining and disrespect from our young generation would certainly cease!!! The "me" mentality would soon fade away and they would understand that for this thing called life to work in the best way it needs to be an "us" mentality. We ALL have to work together and support each other and not do it only because of what "I" will get out of it.
I'll tell ya what we get out of it..... A world like N4M !! We didn't know each other before this journey started but now we all pray for each others hurts and problems and families and support each other in all aspects that are shared, And share we do!!

Ok I'll get off my soapbox now:) I love you guys like family and all of your sons and daughters!! And am proud of their decisions to stand up and BE somebody in a world where that doesn't count near as much as it use to!!

Beth- No word on nextphone call.... she did say they have a major inspection on thrs.( Yesterday) I know if they do well on things like that they sometimes get to make phone calls the following saturday. So we can only pray they did well.
Ronell- for some reason they are doing it a week early. don't know why i was puzzled by this fact and not believing it until another mom of recruit in her div ( Beth or Lisa H. :) ) confirmed that it was going to be a week early. Who knows... One thing I have learned in the last 4 weeks is this.... Things always change in military.

okay guys with the info here and the letter I got from Courtney ( SR PRICE) i have it figured out. today is 4-2 DOT. I believe battlestations will be October 15 and 16th. So ladies start praying adn sending encouragement in those letters ( no, i am not suggesting that that is not already happening :) ) Just extra prayers and encouragement.
Courtney's letter seemed a little more upbeat, it's all becoming routine now and other than the shipmates that still haven't learned to shut up and the one's who are stealing cookies from the galley, I think she is ok. Don't get me wrong---- still VERY homesick. but doing ok.

First... Lorrie, May God's comfort and warmth wrap you and your family and this time and may his strength be there to replace yours at this time. I am so sorry you are going thru this and everything else that has been thown on your plate lately. We all love you and support you in this time and are sending prayers up for your family and especially Dennis.

Secondly... Lisa and Beth... My daughter, Courtney is in Div 401 ship 11 as you both know now, i'm sure, I think we are the only moms on here from that div. :( Courtney is saying the same thing in her letters about people not knowing when to shut up adn getting IT as a result. Have you guys figured out what day they are on? Courtney told me there bootcamp actually started 9/2. My confusion is about Labor day. So if they had day 1-1 on 9/2 and they hold on sat and sun ( which i'm not sure of) does that mean that the following monday ( 9/8) was day 1-5? I know this sounds stupid but I'm just not sure. I am trying to figure out when battlestations are. Any help or reference to days from your boys would help. then maybe we can figure it out.
